![]() Author has written 11 stories for Carpathian Series, Supernatural, Descendants, 2015, and Mythology. For our WWTM/ACitM fans look up to find the poll. Please take some time to vote it would be very helpful! Posted 10/27/19 We both share a passion for many Fandoms. Supernatural, however, has truly gripped us tight and raised us from (writing) perdition. We had originally started writing a Dark Series Fic, but when we toyed around with a supernatural fanfiction, the poor dear got thrown on the back burner. We also discovered Disney's Descendants a while ago, but neither of us admitted it to the other until the second movie dropped and a mutual friend asked us both to watch, and then we realized we had another fandom in common! There are definitely two of us. We’re best friends, the kind of friends where when we go out in public people either think we’re sisters or lovers… DarkandTwistedSisters just sounded better to us when we sat down to create our pen name. We took a moment to write about each other below, thinking that might give you a better look into our lives than if we wrote them ourselves. I gotta add, our friendship goals are to be more like Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen. We’ve been friends for nine years less than those two, but they are true friend otps… ah, aspirations. Dark is a wonderfully creative woman who lives for fantasy. Her strong points are definitely descriptions, character developments, and keeping us in continuity. She loves art in pretty much any form and spends a lot of her free time creating wonderful works. She’s Maes creator and just lives for keeping the readers guessing. She’s curiously brilliant if not a bit more subdued. She’s an INFJ and for any of you familiar with the Briggs Myers test, it really hits the nail on the head for her. I could honestly not ask for a better co-writer for our fanfiction child. Which has only grown into a monster in the last two years since we began writing. Dark is certainly the nurturer of our plot and keeps our characters within the lines of believable (In the SPNL Canon, with our AU influences), but still standing out in a crowd. She’s intensely committed to making sure we edit and get this out to our readers in a timely manner, otherwise you guys would be reading some first draft mega crap out of my impatience. We went with dark for her because she usually tends to lean towards darker, more taboo topics in our writing. She’s always doing her best to bring up relative problems and have our characters work their way through them, she loves playing psychological games with the characters and is amazing at writing villains that inspire fear and hate, that keeps you wanting to know more. She has a ‘Once Upon a Time’ thought process on Villains where she always tries to see it from their shoes, and in my opinion, it makes for a much more sympathetic villain. Vincent, for example, came straight out of her imagination, and he’s really just the start to many more original baddies. - Twisted on Dark Twisted likes more realistic stories, but not autobiography unrealistic. Think more like survivors’ stories or more modern magical stories. Like Harry Potter but not Lord of the Rings. She’s the leader in this duo when it comes to dialogue and figuring out if something makes sense. She’s been amazing at thoroughly exploring our ideas and looking for plot holes before we’re too far gone with it. Twisted is Lilly’s god, and loves putting that poor girl through the grinder and then poking at her, usually calling for me to help put her back together. Lilly inherited a few traits from her “parent” writer and I really enjoy seeing how subtly that influences her. Where a certain trait would have Twisted act one way, the same trait with Lilly has her going the complete opposite direction, because her writer is just that good at blending all her traits and flaws together to form this fully fleshed out person that haunts our dreams. I just want to let you all know, Twisted is actually nothing like Lilly. Thank goodness, because Lilly is a handful. When it comes to us writing together, Twisted is more short term plot. She’s very good at hitting those points in a short arc without making a reader feel like it’s moving too fast, or too slow. She would love it if we could just write and post, and I actually have to commend her on her improved patience with my need to edit. One of my favorite things about writing with her is when she gets a really good idea, and we just start typing away in our shared doc. We’ll get like five thousand words into it and she’ll look up and go… “I don’t know if I like this anymore.” or “Was this really a good idea?”. At first, my heart use to sink when she did this, but after awhile I realized this was her way of really looking at a plot, and questioning it was how she showed she loved it. Now I get worried when she’s not questioning everything we write. :) Twisted got her name because she loves looking at a situation and trying to find a way to change it; for better or worse. She’s also got a twisted sense of humor. Since she put my Briggs Myers test up, I’ll include her’s too, she’s an ISTP. Outside of writing, Twisted is the kind of friend you call when you want to walk down to the park and swing in the rain while you watch the sky light up in brilliant streaks of lightning. What are we usually talking about? Our husbands and how awesome they are, life… but mostly our fanfics. -Dark on Twisted We've had a lot happen to the two of us over the past couple of years, but we're settling and psyched about getting back to hardcore writing. We already have so much of both Bakers, Hunters and Pie, and We Wear the Mask written, but we're us and we are going over it to help us both get back into the story. For every one of you following, reading, and most especially reviewing our story We thank you! Look for us on Facebook @ DarkandTwistedSisters We're also on Archive of Our Own and Wattpad. Posting Schedule WWtM- Book 3: Cracks in the Mask- We will be posting Mondays and Fridays starting 2/10/20 :) |
