Author has written 30 stories for Stargate: SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, NCIS, Numb3rs, Torchwood, and Bones. Hello, welcome to my profile page, my name is Mav. Here is a guide to my stories: When She's Gone (Stargate SG-1): Something simple I wrote after watching Heroes again. I always thought there should be more DanJan story in the series, but I'll forgive them. British Invasion (Stargate: Atlantis): Formerly titled Oh Baby!, this was my near-disastrous attempt at a longer fic. It's rather AU and kind of weird, but I'm keeping it up as an example of how I used to write. I got bored writing it, which is not a good thing, because it turned out to be Mary-Sue crap. Primary example of why you finish something before you post it. Standard Procedure (S:A): I was itching to do a Lornefic, and this just kind of popped into my head one day, so I wrote it. An Encounter With Pain (S:A): This was originally going to be a five-part story, but the inspiration isn't there to continue it. I may one day return to it. A Twist of Fate(SG-1): Yet another short DanJan story about what might have happened before the movie. Better Than Nothing (S:A): This is in production. I'm working on another chapter, but it turned out to be much darker than I had planned, and it's difficult to resurrect it. It is close to being done. Scars (S:A): This begged to be written after I saw Tao of Rodney. I need to do more Ronon fics. Gift of Life (S:A): Zelenka has just recently entered my peripheral vision, and I'm starting to warm up to him, so I thought he deserved a story. The Former Mrs. Sheppard (S:A): A short little exploration of Sheppard's previous marriage. I wanted to do something that would set up Shep's father, and clear up what happened with Sheppard's wife. This was obviously written preOutcasts. Death Be Not Proud (S:A): I was playing around on-line and came across John Donne's beautiful poem. Voila! An Atlantis fic came to mind. Kinda sappy, but wholesome fun! Yes, No or Maybe (S:A): This was inspired by a conversation with some friends about whether or not we'd take ascension if it were offered. So naturally, I had to theorize about the team and what they would do. To the War (S:A): I love the song Minstrel Boy, especially on the Black Hawk Down soundtrack. It seems to fit John Sheppard perfectly. Plus, I like to see more of him before Atlantis. Crazy (S:A): Short, but really my first look at Carson's interaction with the team. I Hate You (SG-1): Thus started my obsession with episode 200 of SG-1. I think I watched it about twenty times. Getting Daniel Back (SG-1): However, the last season was always more about Daniel, and I wanted to explore more of the search for him. You'll Come Back for Me (NCIS): I really didn't intend to kill Tony on my first trek into NCISverse. And it was so much more sappy than what I wanted. But it kinda worked out that way. Snow Dragons (NCIS): A WIP that turned out better than I'd expected. I wanted to get further into the world of NCIS. It changed several times. Celebrating Life (NCIS): Tony is totally not himself in this fic, but it was more catharsis for me after my grandmother died. Off the Grid (Crossover): An extended version of Snow Dragons, which provided a greater look at The Unit and Bones. Not Again (No idea): This isn't really a story, more of a decompression thing. I was looking for inspiration, and my muse took me to some interesting places. Don't take it too seriously, because I certainly didn't. Trigger: My first Numb3rs story. While writing this, I realized I have a thing for secret organizations. Turned out okay, took several different turns, but I like it overall. Just Mostly Dead: I thought the new season of Stargate: Atlantis had an interesting new theme, so I ran with it. Lots of snark between McKay and Sheppard. Agent Orange: This was written mostly for my benefit as a pre-fic to Snow Dragons. If I ever do the sequel to SD, then this will be more useful. Fragments of Memory: First Torchwood story. This show makes timelines nearly impossible, but I had this idea while reading a Doctor Who book, and it wouldn't leave me alone. This also marks my first attempt at mild slash. Understanding (S:A): I loved "Whispers" and I felt the need to write a tag for it. Since I love Lorne as well, I made him a central figure. Accipitral: The sequel to Trigger. Currently a WIP. It's being rewritten. I didn't like the direction it was going, and I felt the need to take a step back. Can't tell you when it will be posted. A Coin is a Coin (Crossover): I must have started and stopped this a dozen times. As a result, it seems disjointed to me, but I wanted to get Tony and John talking in a realistic setting. I may expand upon that idea some day. The Shrouded Abyss (SG-1): Yet another one that I finished long after I started. I love the dynamic that Daniel and Jack had, and I thought there needed to be some closure between them at the end of the episode. I was quite happy with it, but I received some very interesting criticism for some of the comments made. No offense was intended. It's Daniel: Because there can never be enough stories about Jack and Daniel's friendship. You may have noticed, I haven't written anything in quite a while. Part of that is due to the response to my first draft of Accipitral. I've taken a different approach to fanfiction since the days of British Invasion. I still work on stuff, but it goes through a heavy review process before I post. That being said, I am occasionally inspired to write off the cuff. If you have something specific you'd like to see, please let me know. I'm also looking to be a beta reader. I have four years of newspaper editing under my belt, currently work as the editor of a book series, and I get violent when I see your instead of you're. If you would like a beta reader, please feel free to contact me. I do allow anonymous reviews, because sometimes it's easier that way. However, I like it when you leave a way to contact you, especially if you have questions or criticisms that I can address and explain. |
