What a wonderful all around story! I thoroughly enjoyed Gibbs being a father to not only Tim but to Sarah as well and I also enjoyed the hinted at budding romance between Sacks and Sarah. It was quite a ride, this story, and well worth a second reading ... or a third ... or a fourth ...!

This right here, this chapter, is one of the most emotional, most impactful chapters I've ever read. It's also the quintessential example of someone talking to a loved one, of bringing him back from the brink of death; it wasn't just done in a few sentences or even a few paragraphs. It was done as an entire chapter, taking the time it takes to get it right, to show the passing of time. I loved Gibbs reminding Tim to breathe, of talking to him and never thinking of stopping, how he wasn't afraid to take Tim's hand, using his words, his voice, his hands to anchor Tim to this world, to draw him back to life. So many people have tried to duplicate this, usually going a paragraph and a Gibbs' stern 'don't die, Tim; you don't have permission to die.' But what you did, what this is ... (shaking head) ... I'm in awe, absolute awe. I hope you come back to fanfic again some day, I really do, because I would love to read more words by you, to see what you can do. Thank you so much for sharing this. I only meant to skim through this, a quick break before getting back to RL concerns; instead I ended up reading the whole frigging thing in one go. And then getting to this chapter ... just thank you for sharing your writing.
