This is an AU("modern") Emma/Killian fic... it's inspired by Christina Perri's Music Video "The Words"... watch it, and you'll see these two first chapters are almost a "copy" of that song... (pretty much, with stuff left out for some, maybe, later chapters.)

When the Evil Queen twists the Genie's Wish to send Emma away from Storybrooke, Hook and David find a way to follow her to a Realm created by the Genie's magic. There, they encounter alternate versions of themselves, which force them to do some soul-searching of their own. This is a canon-divergence fic of the Season 6 Wish Realm episodes.

Emma Swan has two problems: 1. Killian Jones, the annoying co-owner of the bookstore across the street from her own (just how many book shops did one small town need?); and 2. The fact that she may or may not be falling in love with the same Killian Jones. The course of true love never did run smooth, did it?

"Princess" Emma was so done with working at her family's ren fair, and especially with one annoying pirate re-enactor. (Or was she?)

She laughs out of happiness, out of relief, out of the idiocy of the situation because surely, if he'd never gone and gotten himself shot, she'd never have admitted any of this to him. One-shot detectives AU.

Emma calls Killian down to the docks to help her figure out what is lurking in the fog.

Because mermaids, fairies, and the heavenly chorus all know there will always be stories at bars, whether it be about some existential crisis, musical prowess, knives, or cinnamon-sprinkled hot chocolate.

It's ironic, really, how he remembers the night she asked to forget.

Hook reflects on his relationship with Emma.

Emma is supposed to be the savior, not the one who makes things worse, but she's definitely made Regina suffer, again. She needs some space to try and deal with that, but she doesn't mind when Hook keeps her company.

A year is a long time, Emma knows, longer than most people think. She should be used to wearing out people's patience by now, but somehow, it still hurts—every time, every goddamn time. (emma/hook, post ep for 2.17)

Emma had always felt like her memories were akin to hot cocoa - while occasionally scalding or stone cold, they were generally warm and soothing, drawing her in to bittersweet nostalgia. But like the morning she forgot to add cinnamon to the mix, so too did some of the moments that made up her life feel like they were lacking something vital, something that urged her not to forget.

"Mate?" Killian asks after a while. Busy reading and drinking his coffee, David only hums in acknowledgment. "Can I ask you something?" Another hum. "How did you know? That what you have with Her Grace is true love?" David chokes on his coffee.

Emma goes to Hook to tell him that she's chosen him and old insecurities force Hook to question her decision. All this is sometime in the future I guess in Storybrooke. There's not really a set timeframe.

A short "what-if" from 3.07 - Neal doesn't interrupt Emma and Hook until several minutes later.

"It was either you or Regina, so…" But his attempt at humour falls flat, the thought not there. When he finally glances at her, she's looking right in front of her, tight jaw and tensed muscles. His heart drops in his chest. "You really have no idea, do you?"

Post-coconuts conversation between the two halves of Captain Swan...about names, destinies, and choices. T for language and basically everything that comes out of Hook's mouth. Angst, drama, romance, and a dash of humor.
