Author has written 7 stories for Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing/AC, How to Train Your Dragon, Inuyasha, and Doctor Who. Hey there, Everyone! What to say about myself? Well, let's start off by saying I'm a writer that enjoys watching anime (just about all kinds) and I- obviously- read fanfiction. I read just about anything I can get my hands on, and am currently on novel number two of my own series and, for the moment at least, it's going well. My muse has recently returned from vacation, and is making up her time at all hours of the day. Gets annoying to say the least. I'm working, reading something or trying to sleep and ideas pop into my head and have to be written down before they're lost to the void forever. I now carry at least a piece of paper and a pen wherever I go, just in case. Update: 4/21/2016: Hey, guys! I have ventured into the world of Doctor Who fanfiction! I know, I know, I have so many unfinished stories, but I find myself driven to write these ones, six at last count, and will endeavor to get them out as soon as possible. I don't have internet at home at the moment, so I have to go to the library or somewhere with WiFi to post for now. Wish me luck, and I wish everyone happy reading and writing! Update: 7/12/2016: For anyone interested, I'm taking down "The Dusty Saga". It was recently pointed out that, even though I love her to death, I made her WAY too powerful, she doesn't really fit the universe and neither does her arc. As much as it pains me, Dusty and the NightWalkers are taking a well-deserved break. They will, perhaps, continue in some form, maybe on AdultFanFiction, but not here. My latest story, Haunted by Ghosts, hasn't been updated in over six years, mostly because I've lost where I was going with it, and it's time to take it down, give the whole series a thorough going over and see where it takes us. As fond as I am of the arc I created, it's time to let it stand or fall on it's own without borrowing from another universe. I will send a PDF version to those who request it. Just shoot me a PM with your email, and I'll do my best to get it to you. Thanks to everyone who read and reviewed, both the original and updated version, and know that though I'm sad to see it go, I am hoping to continue. Dusty is a forceful creature, and won't leave me alone for much longer, I think. She's a handful, even when she cooperates, but this site isn't the place for her anymore. Also, four of my five Gundam Wing AC fics are coming down. They're basically crap, and I've recently remembered that songfics are against site rules, so until they're edited to remove the lyrics, or just plain written better, they're leaving the site. Update: 10/2/17: Race the Wind WILL be up soon. It's incredible how much gestation and raising a baby saps the energy, but I've finally managed to get a schedule worked out, and am now about halfway through it. I can't say for sure when it'll be up, but it's definitely coming! So hang in there! Update: 07/29/2018: Race The Wind is currently being written! I'm about three quarters of the way through, but refuse to post until I'm finished tweaking and polishing. Also not helping is that I managed to get pregnant again, and now have a one month old baby on top of my one year old. I'm still working, though, when I can squeeze it in, so it WILL be up, just can't say when exactly. Wish me luck, everyone! Favorite Animes: Voltron, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundam Wing, G Gundam, Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Panic Fumoffu, Outlaw Star, Dot Hack Sign, Ghost in the Shell (movies and series), Pretear, Robotech (been a while, though), Dragonball Z, Escaflowne (just recently), and just a few too many others to list here without boring the brains out of you. My first three stories weren't actually chapter stories until I put them up here. For those that read and reviewed my absolutely horrid attempts at breaking them up, you have my deepest and most sincere thanks. I will be editing them in the near future so they'll not only look better, they'll be easier to understand, more descriptive and easier to follow. Wish me luck! That's it for now. When I think of some more, I'll edit this and try to keep it as up to date as possible. For everyone who has read my stuff, I apologize for any long amounts of time between updates. My writing has gotten rather fickle these days, and while I try to keep up with it, sometimes there's just too much other stuff to do first, and by the time I get to it, I'm worn out and collapse in bed without writing a word. It's starting to drive me crazy-to say the least-and I'll try to do better in the future. I have signed up as a beta reader, so if anyone needs one, just let me know. Since my writing seems to have stalled- again- I could use something to help get the juices flowing again. I've read EVERY book in the house and most of the ones in every library I can get to, and I'm going crazy. I need some new material to read. Any and all help with current stories is GREATLY appreciated. Anyhoo, stay frosty, all. DragonLadyRelena Goku Battles His Dark Side is a stand-alone story that a friend came up with. The idea is his, I'm just writing it out for him. While I do get some creative leeway, most of the story is his, as well as new characters. Wish us luck and remember to review because we decided to leave the end up to the readers. This is still ongoing, and I wish I could update. I seem to have hit a block. To anyone who's read this, or even just peeked at it, ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!! And remember to vote for what you want to see happen. The end (hopefully) is coming soon, and every vote counts! Take To The Skies is a a HTTYD fanfic, and is a gender swap for Hiccup and Astrid only! Everyone else stays the same, with a few added scenes. It is currently complete, but as I still have some editing to do, I will post when I finish with each chapter. Race the Wind is HTTD2 fanfic that will hopefully be up soon! The continuing adventures of Toothless and the skinny human he's bonded to. Oneshots and/or Songfics: As stated earlier, the songfics have come down, and will either be edited or replaced completely. Heero Gets A Friend (oneshot) I have a little rant to get off my chest, people, and I'm pretty sure that if I posted it as a story, it would get deleted, so I'm posting it here. Ok, folks. I've got some issues I'd like to air. First of all, PLEASE use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. It can't be that hard to use the spell check on your computer. The difference between “their”, “they're” and “there” (I'll put examples of common mistakes at the end to make this clear to those of you who don't know) is rather marked, and if you can't figure it out, LEARN HOW! Do you have any idea how irritating it is to try and figure out what you typed? Which brings me to another point, actually. For the love of all things holy, when a new person starts talking, you NEED to start a NEW paragraph. Here's an example, all right? “Sango, use the Hirakotsu!” “Get down, Inuyasha!” Sango shouted, drawing back her arm to throw the massive bone boomerang strapped to her back. Got it, now? Because if you don't, check the example again. I also refuse to read anything that looks like it took ten minutes to type, less time to edit, and is flooded with reviews all saying how “grt” it is, and how “i cnt wate to c mor!” If the people who read it can't spell in a review (because I check those first!), then I'm not going to read your lousy attempt at a story, got it? I put a lot of time and effort, not to mention RESEARCH into my stories, and I get maybe one review per chapter, if that. Why is it that some truly great writers get nothing while the people who can't type or use simple grammar and spelling get 200 or more reviews for something that's not worth the time it takes to read? Is it so hard to use some common sense when posting a story? Has fanfiction gone down the drain? Can it be saved? OF COURSE IT CAN! We CAN save fanfiction from total obliteration by using some simple rules.
Simple, easy to follow. Can't be hard, right? I certainly hope so, because I can't make it any more simple than that. I know a LOT of people might have an issue with this, but I can't say that I care. The quality of writing on this site has gone downhill in a damn hurry, and it's all because people who can't type or using plots that aren't even CLOSE to original flood the site and drive the folks who look for well written stories elsewhere. Screaming fan girls/guys have added to this latest trend, and I'm tired of it. Beyond tired, in point of fact, but pointing it out just gets you yelled at through a pm or in the author's note. Well, the ranting is officially over, and I'll move on to examples now. Everyone with me so far? I hope so. The list below will be added to, as I couldn't think of everything that I run across almost daily on this site. Again, if you need further help, please feel free to PM me. I am more than willing to be a beta reader, as long as I know the universe you're writing for, and am always happy to help others improve. Your/You're “You're going to have to move, Kagome.” “Your mother's in the hospital.” Since/Sense “Since you're headed that way anyway, why not pick me up?” “I don't sense a jewel shard nearby, Inuyasha.” Two/Too/To (This one sets me off more than any other!!) “You two are going to the hot springs, right?” “I'm coming, too!” “What are you referring to, Kagome?” There/They're/Their (LEARN THIS!!) “There's a jewel shard nearby!” “They're not going to make it!” “It's their dog, isn't it?” (Usually means a group of people you don't know, or would take too long to write everyone's name) Pier/Peer “Take a long walk off a short pier!” “Peer pressure is bad.” (If you don't know it by now, you never will!) Pare/Pair/Pear “Pare this apple for me, would you?” “We make a great pair!” "I'm craving a pear." Here/Hear “I'm here, guys!” “Did you hear that suspicious thud?” Of/Have "You shouldn't have done that!" "You're kind of weird, you know that?" Peak/Peek/Pique (This cannot be that hard.) "You have reached the peak!" (highest point) "Don't go peeking into those presents!" (quick look, usually out of the corner of the eye, or a glimpse of something) "You've managed to pique my interest." (intrigued, made someone curious) Forth/Fourth (The fact that I have to do this is kind of sad, really.) "Rock gently back and forth to soothe the baby." "It's the Fourth of July." Accept/Except "I accept the nomination for President." "This is your home now, so you can go anywhere you like, except the West Wing." Conscious/Conscience "She's not conscious!" (passed out, unresponsive) "I can't, in good conscience, allow you to do this." Allowed/Aloud "You're not allowed in there!" (permitted, granted access) "I say my prayers aloud." (clearly spoken, not mumbled) Definitely/Defiantly (Again, I see this one A LOT!) "That girl is definitely one of a kind." "She stood defiantly, not allowing herself to be intimidated by the glowering man before her." New/Knew (Why these get confused, I'll never know!) "You're new here, aren't you?" "I knew you were an idiot, but this is beyond anything I ever imagined!" Passed/Past "She passed me the note, but I didn't get a chance to read it." "It's all in the past, now, dear." A lot/Allot "You really like her a lot, don't you?" "You've gone passed your allotted time." Rain/Rein/Reign "It looks like it might rain later." "Rein in that temper of yours, or you'll be in serious trouble." "The reign of the Emperor is over." Affect/Effect (I know this one is hard, as even I have trouble with it.) "The special effects of that movie were awesome!" "Your opinion has no affect on me." Aisle/Isle "It's on aisle six, next to the cereal." "It's a deserted little isle, birds and trees as far as the eye can see." Sight/Site/Cite "You're a sight for sore eyes!" "The dig site is over there." "Don't forget to cite your sources." Boarder/Border "We have a pair of boarders coming tonight." "He didn't show you what's beyond that rise on the northern border?" Waist/Waste "He wrapped an arm around her waist and drew her to his side." "Toss this in the waste basket for me, would you?" Wonder/Wander (This reason for this one escapes me, but I've seen it a lot recently.) "He looked around in wonder, the light of the stars shining in his eyes." (Awe, surprise) "Rule One: Don't wander off." (walking, often without thought of where you're going) Then/Than (Seen this one a lot, too.) "We're going to to the movies, then dinner." "I would much rather see this movie than that one." Presents/Presence "Mom loaded the presents in the car to take them to Grandma's house for Christmas." "I sense a mysterious presence in this house." Patients/Patience "I have twenty patients to see to before I go home." "You will have patience before I take away all your toys." Surely/Surly "You don't mind me coming along with you, surely?" (Certainly, firmly) "Lack of caffeine made him unable to think, while lack of sleep made him surly." (Angry, cranky) Weary/Wary "No rest for the weary, eh?" (Tired) "Be wary of this forest: it gives me a strange feeling." (Worried, on edge) Threw/Through (FFS, I'm SO sick of seeing this one!) "She threw her arms around his neck, so relieved to see him that her knees threatened to give out." "You have to pass through the forest to reach the next town." Cue/Queue "I'll take that as my cue to leave." "Join the queue, buddy, or leave." (Line, usually of people waiting) Reek/Wreak "You reek of another woman's perfume!" (Stink, malodorous) "You can't simply continue to wreak havoc!" Woman/Women (WHY have I seen this one so much?!) "The woman looked down at her new baby, and felt like her heart would simply burst with how much she loved the tiny bundle." (Singular) "The women have been doing laundry in the river." (Plural) Any further questions, please, feel free to shoot me a message. I'm MORE than happy to answer them. Beware, though: I'm through being nice because it's gotten me nowhere on this site, except insulted and/or ignored. I've moved on to being brutally honest. If you have made it passed sixth grade and still haven't grasped the above, then there's probably no help for you, and, as previously stated, I will be honest in telling you so. If English isn't your first language, then I completely understand and will endeavor to help you out. However, if it is and the examples listed above escape you . . . well. |
