Location: USA (so please excuse any flaws I make while referring to other cultures... I have been very sheltered here in the good ol' US of A and hate it, but must go with what I know...)

Info: I'm a college graduate who is trying to make something of herself. I enjoy reading and someone suggested that I try writing as well, so here I am. lol

I'd much rather be an editor than a writer as I haven't had much experience in writing but have edited more writing than I can recall (nothing professional, just friends' stuff). Please feel free to let me know what you think of my writing. But be mature about it... I hate reading about anonymous reviews/reviewers that flame stories just because they can. If you don't like my work, feel free to say so - I was raised in a free country and fully respect freedom of speech - but be warned, I will flame right back if you do. I follow the "eye for an eye" motto... _

I enjoy all kinds of writing from horror to mystery to slash/romance... The only think I can't handle is gore.

I'm currently working on a couple of stories (in my head only). I haven't written them down yet - I wanted to see how well my 'Teaser' did first. The Teaser is supposed to be dealing lightly with Inuyasha, possibly an AU, but I didn't like the way the story was going, so I got rid of all of it except the teaser...

My current fandoms are: GW, HP, Transformers, (some) Supernatural, Inuyasha, Naruto, FMA, Torchwood and (some) BtVS... this can and will expand - i have varied tastes and will read anything that catches my eye, though crack!fics kinda annoy me.

OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense,who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion, or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Pet Peeves!!!

OK, so I'm not perfect, and lord knows I make grammar, spelling and other mistakes regularly, but I can honestly say I am ashamed my my generations' (and the ones younger than me) horrendous grammar and word usage! I know txtspk has taken over the world, but if you want to write, LEARN TO WRITE PROPERLY AND USE WORDS APPROPRIATELY!!!! guh...

Your and you're have two very different meanings!!! And yes, people have a tendency to over look things like that because the spell check doesn't catch them, but really, if you took basic elementary and middle school grammar you know how to use them!!!

I understand people that are translating their work into English don't really grasp the concept of contractions, so I will only say this - if you're going to have your work translated, have it done by a fluent speaker for BOTH languages, otherwise your sentences just don't make much sense.

And finally, after reading god knows how many fics in the last 6 or so years, I am sick of reading this sentence over and over again!!!

"Wait, my (insert name here)? Where did that come from?" GAH!! _

In closing, people, PLEASE just proof read! And actually look at your words - and if it sounds dumb to you, it most likely will to your readers too!!!
