This is great you should keep going!

Nice to see that Dom thinks he is "partially to blame" for Letty being in her situation. I'd put it more like 90% to blame, because him leaving her was the motivation behind her getting hurt.

At least he's starting to realize that he was wrong. For making decisions for Letty. For leaving. That she was right when she said they were stronger together. I hope he says some of this new insight to her!

Ride or die means you stick with each other to the end! Dom will be lucky to get another chance with Letty. Maybe she's tired of always being the one doing to chasing and the one always being left behind. I really reallt look forward to watching him show her, convince her, that he has finally learned that lesson! I hope her "death" finally changed him for good!

You seriously have a wonderful writing style! The emotional depth is beautiful to read. I reallt follow Letty's life and how the hardships and betrayals have led her to trust only herself.

I think she has her priorities better now. No more following adom to the ends of the earth only to have him leave her (again). And now she has a daughter who has to be more important than a man who can't be bothered to care about her as much as she cares about him.

We will have to see if and how Dom his his game to win Letty's trust back. I assume he will have to work at it...

owen's taunting of Dom was superbly written! Rubbing it in that Dom left Letty (and his daughter), that it was Owen who saved Letty when she was dying in a ditch. Ouch!

Dom missed SO much-all because of his stupid decision to leave Letty behind. His arrogsnt decision to overrule her own choices and wishes. Glad its weighing in him. He can never get that time back! Guess he didn't think very far when he decided to leave her, did he?

I can only hiod htis leads him to the kind of introspection that will make him a better man. Hopefully one who this time (assuming Letty gives him another chance) will respect Letty as the equal she was always supposed to be in his life! I love when our hero has to go through a trial of Fire and come out stronger on the other side! :-)

I love that you (and your version of letty) are clear that the thing that Dom did wrong wasnt just leaving Letty, it was not trusting her and breaking his promise to her. He doesn't respect her enough to allow her to make her own decisions-so how is she going to believe that it will be different now.

And now we know that he abandoned her while she was pregnant. Hope he suffers with that knowledge for a while. Maybe teaching a thing or two about being a cocky idiot who thinks he can make life decisions for his girlfriend.

Oh my goodness! This story is amazing! I really love the franchise, but I've gotta say, this writing was way better than what's actually in FF6. Please keep updating! You have an incredible gift for writing Letty and Dom. This story is really incredible!

This chapter was even better than prior chapters! I couldn't pick my favorites paragraphs because there are so many!

You make it clear that Dom loved Letty. That she WAS important in his life and that she "made his life worth living". (And not just because he found out she had his child-he loves her for HER. ). Near the end he says "There was no him without her." Amen!

Roman is a bit wrong though " she can rough you up some more and it'll all be one big happy psycho family." If he thinks that's all it's going to take for everything to be ok with Dom and Letty he is mistaken!

I love Dom working through his feels towards Brian (for letting Letty get involved I such dangerous activities), for Letty putting herself in danger for him, and at himself for making the while situation happen.

This part was golden:
"He also know that he's partially to blame. He's known that since that phone call from Mia, that cold feeling in his stomach as the ground dropped from under him." It shows that he understand he is to blame and also shows us how he felt when he found out Letty was "dead". Wow!

And probably my very favorite part was Dom realizing that Letty was right. And that HE screwed up by not listening to her, that in his arrogance he put his wishes above hers, that he'd made Decisions for her-and look where that got them: Letty injured and pregnant, raising a child one and stuck in a dangerous situation with shaw; Dom thinking Letty was dead and now unable to get her back,
Having missed out on her pregnancy and his daughter. Wow! Finally indeed Dom has some
Insight! He realizes that Letty was right that they were safer together.

(Ps the fact that Dom knew about her life growing up and how taking decisions away from her was the cardinal sin in her book makes it even more sad that he did what he did!).

In love that he's willing to take the blue and to try to win her back (hopefully with some honest and open talk, where he tells her all the things he's been thinking...)

Dom GETS that this is his second chance and you feel that he's figured it out and isn't going to be the same guy who left Letty last time. Yay!

I love Letty's insight here:

Yes! And Dom leaving her and all the subsequent shit she's had to go through (alone) has made her even stronger. She can love Dom but still not be willing to be with him. She has been forced to take care of herself and she should not give that up. He has shown her that she can't trust him to keep his word, to stay with her, to be as loyal to her as she was to him (following him over and over when he left her).

"She'd made a vow, somewhere between clutching her ribs in a dingy hotel across the border and chasing Dom's ass through what felt like every Spanish-speaking country in the hemisphere, to always trust herself over anything - and anyone - else."

Dom should have to realize this and get used to the idea that (because of his own actions) she can never Trust him the way she once did. She will trust herself over him or anyone else from now on

However, I am a HUGE dotty fan so in want them to get back together eventually. After Dom has grown up and show us and Letty that he has changed, that he is no longer that man who makes unilateral decisions for everyone (bad decisions).

Wow! It gets better and better!

I love when shaw taunts Dom about not being there when Letty was dying in a ditch after fenix tried to kill her. Just highlights the fact that so much of his is DOM'S Fault!
Shaw: "No, you are the one who left her behind. Her and your child," yes! Great stuff!

Mia saying, "You can't beat yourself up over what could've been". Um YES he can and should. It's the only way for his to learn that what he did was wrong. That his actions had consequences that he can never undo. He will never get that time back with Letty or his daughter, never make up to Letty for making her go through her pregnancy alone. The best he can do is to love forward from here! (Which he should do). I want to hear Dom tell Letty that he's sorry, not just for leaving her, but for doing so after promising to stay. For taking the decision away from her , for not taking her wishes into consideration, for treating her like an object he owns rather than a partner in love. For all the bad things his stupid and selfish decision out her through. He needs to articulate this to letty!

I did love how you wrote (a little) about Dom learning that Letty could be alive:

When Hobbs had first suggested that Letty could be alive, it was almost too much for him to hope for. Finding out that she was alive was just about enough to bring him to his proverbial knees.

YES! Some evidence that Letty was important to him (and not just a distantly as he moved on with Elena). :-)

Ooh. I think this is going to be a favorite story for me! I loove the angst! I love that Dom kind of gets the irony of him leaving her. For her protection" and now she's trying to do the same thing. And I wanted to shot him myself when he thought "He wouldn't let her go again. "
Wtf, Dom?! You are the one who left. You didn't let her go, you chose to leave her (like a coward)!

I hate that Dom is still his cocky self and thinks that he can just come back into Letty's life with an "I'm sorry" and make up for leaving her alone in the DR in the middle of the night *after* promising to stay, to make up for her almost getting killed by fenix, laying alone dying on the pavement...

He has so much to make up for and I have yet to see him show that he has changed at all. Yes he's happy to see her but there is nothing yet to show that he won't be that same guy who will leave her "for her protection" the next time.

Your writing is amazing! "Her words held no pretense. He knew she was referring to the Dominican Republic, to her waking up alone next to a cold, empty space of bed. To him breaking the one promise that had meant the most to her." This was so perfectly and beautifully written!

And I love that Letty dropped the "I was pregnant" bomb on him. I hope he suffers thinking more about the fact that he abandoned his pregnant girlfriend alone in the middle of the night.

I wish you would show us more About how Dom suffered when he thought Letty was dead. Maybe in flashback...? Cause he sure seemed to move on quickly in the movies... With Elena. Didn't seem to me that Letty was the love of his life.

I hope he has to beg to get Letty to give him a chance. I don't know how she will ever trust him again after he broke his promise to her in the worst possible way, leaving her alone and pregnant...
