my only saving grace? that everyone would most likely realize - and in startling clarity, haha! - that the reason why only tony can be iron man is because frankly no one is as quick and smart and adept at making snap decisions. tony has to filter all this information on his visor while moving at four hundred miles per hour. have fun crashing, shepherd

this is from 2012 lol but just wanted to say...this is really, really good, and it hurts so much. as an able-bodied person, i can't even imagine what tony is going through right now and god - iron man is part of his identity. to have that ripped away alongside so much disgusting scorn from those who would rather insult him than bust their own asses out in the field? that is the worst kind of pain. not to mention i have absolutely no care for shepherd. clint's right - the major seems fine enough when it comes to doing the right thing, but he also strikes me as a douche who would never be as self sacrificing or intelligent or reflexive or strong as tony. this made me very sad. i loved this but it hurt in such a quiet way

This is a very good fic with very good writing. It's a pity that it is discontinued.

This story is freaking awesome! It's really a shame it didn't get and ending. Your portrait of the characters are amazing. It's provably the closest I have read in this fandom.
