Aww I really loved this! I've recently discovered a lot about Clint, because I didn't know much about him before, but the more I find out the more I love him. I think this chapter really sums up his personality - he has the wisdom and practicality of Steve, and the..."unique" way of communicating it that he shares with Tony ;) And I love the quiet way he just refuses to let Bruce go. He is just absolutely, and quite cheerfully, unmoveable :')

Oooh that was exciting! Good old Nat and Clint, dropping in when they're needed :') And I love reading stories from different character's points of view, so this as an alternate take on chapter 3 was great to read. And it was nice touch to have Tony reaching out to take Steve's hand - going on the metaphor from chapter 3, it gave the impression that even though Tony needs help to stop him from drowning, he has to start it. As soon as he reaches out for help, he has it, but he has to take that first step.

Haha I loved that! She was like trying to do some cool spy thing and then she was just FUCK IT THROW THE FUCKING THING :') I also loved that little line, "It was right up there besides Stark's drinking problem" - barely noticeable, but a really sweet reminder of how much she cares. So much fanfic writes her as this complete robot, but it's lovely when she's given a heart. I just love the idea that one of the things she hates most in the world is the fact that her friend (never mind the genius hero part) is on an endless self destruct mission, and for all her skills there's nothing she can do about it. That or she just finds it annoying when he's not up to his best and reduces the efficiency of the team ;) But I like to think it was the former!

Aww poor Steve! It must be so confusing, being in situations that are so similar to his own time but completely different, especially in the heat of battle. Although that response was so Clint; just letting the little things go and not making a big deal out of it if it doesn't matter in the long run. I like to think that in his perceptive way he saw the compliment in it - I suppose if someone mistakes you for their best friend, someone they trust implicitly, then you must be pretty close to it!

Oh dear, Tony has been very unlucky with water-related things in the films hasn't he? I loved this! I was just reading a pretty rubbish fic somewhere else, so the brilliant and professional quality of your writing really slapped me in the face in this chapter. Things like drowning are so hard to describe without it dragging because it's all in the character's head, and you have to deal with their panic etc as well so there's a lot of repetition and you can't do all that much describing anyway! But this is done really well; I felt quite anxious reading it! I also wonder if this chapter is a metaphor? For all the problems Tony feels like he has to deal with on his own, and the way it almost destroyed him, especially in IM2, but just when he's almost drowned Pepper/Rhodey/the Avengers pull him back from the brink.

Really like the way you did this with the second by second count down. Very nice and showed the tension and franticness they must have felt.
