Author has written 11 stories for Naruto, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Let's see...about me... Basics: I'm in my 20's, female and as Southern as a girl can get. Writing history: I've been writing since I was about six, but this is the first place I've had the guts to post anything. If you can't be nice at least be civil. Criticisms are expected and compliments are hoped for. Hobbies: My interests are wildly across the spectrum; from rock climbing, horseback riding and whitewater rafting to reading, writing (obviously) and arts/crafts. I also have a 2nd degree black belt in karate and am - graduated from! - nursing school. I am officially an RN! (In other words, I'll splint your arm after I break it! ) Updates: Sorry, but updates on anything I post will be sporadic at best - my life is INSANE. Found this on other profiles and LOVED IT. OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He was outlived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing. RIP: We shall remember Single Stories: Cruel Lesson - "I still can't believe it. God, we should have seen it coming. We had twelve years worth of warning, if we had only paid attention. But we didn’t. In the end, we could only stand in shock and horror on that cruel day. The day that Konoha lost its children." - Ever wonder why there are no kids in the ninja clans? I mean, it seems like the Nara clan has Shikamaru, and that's it. No other little Naras. Same with Chouji, Kiba and Shino's clans. Even the Hyuugas; there's just Neji, Hinata and Hanabi. This story plays off of that. But while it is focused on my characters, there is a fair bit of interaction with the show's cast. Sort of. Some Things Change - Just a one-shot for YGO. Nothing major, rather OOC, but I just felt like writing it. Stopping the Storm - "Life as an Academy instructor isn't easy, with civilians afraid of you, parents complaining to you and students or friends pulling dangerous 'pranks'... Oh, yes, and ANBU running around trying to find the traitors who intend to let in an enemy army. Fun." - Another Naruto fic, though this one is actually focused on the cast. Mostly. Again, something in the anime caught my attention, and my imagination ran with it. In Defence of the Tamer - "It was a bad day. Someone she cared for was in jail, and no one knew what was happening to him. She was angry, and the Inuzuka have never been known for patience. Too bad Hiashi had to push it." - This is actually a one-shot that I got permission to write. WhyMustIWrite has a story called "It's Not Over Till the Paperwork Is In", and one scene in it sparked my imagination. You don't have to read that story for this one to make sense, but it helps. The Weekend Project - "Outside of every ninja village are smaller, simpler towns that the village relies upon for various needs. However, as Kakashi is about to find out, even small towns can hide big secrets. And if they survive this, then Iruka has a LOT of explaining to do." - Again, something in WhyMustIWrite's 'Not Over' universe sparked my imagination. This one is my story though, so it'll be a lot different than 'Not Over'. The Children - "There is something wrong in Konoha. Subtle, seemingly isolated events hint at a much darker truth, if the pieces were ever put together. And as Iruka is about to discover, not all the inexperienced are naive - while not all children are innocent." - This one's a VERY old story (I was like, thirteen) of mine that I'm re-writing (it was about OC's but I feel comfortable enough with the canon cast to make it them now). And apparently it's creepy. shrugs Not what I was going for, but I'll take it. Series Stories: Shinkirou (Mirage) - "When the Sandaime fell, a nightmare descended upon Konoha. But on the day the nightmare began, no one noticed that one teacher's aid and a few young children disappeared. That simple fact may be the only hope Konoha has left." - Basic cliche: 'bad guy gets power, good guy leads other good guys to try and stop him'. This one just has Iruka as the leader, instead of Kakashi or Naruto. Homecoming - "Between the end of war and the beginning of reconstruction, there should always be a time in which to come home and simply be. Sometimes, however, home is not a comfort, but an awkward silence to overcome." - This one-shot goes along with the epilogue of Shinkirou, sort of filling in some of the gaps. Zanzou (Afterimage) - "With the Godaime overthrown and Sanctuary triumphant, Konohans are finally able to live without the suffocating shroud of fear. But Danzo made enemies besides his own people, and Konoha is about to face the consequences of his actions." - sequel to Shinkirou and Homecoming. |
