You made me tear up a bit at the end there because it's exactly like that when your hopes get up and then crushed and then you resolve to make it better and then your hopes are even higher and so the letdown cracks your soul a bit.

The family Jack was watching was that his before he died. I know he had a sister.

Omigods, this is soo sad! Gosh, how can North just ignore him like that?! I mean, from all the stories I read, Jack is seventeen! That means he's still a minor! That...was gorgeous. And I'm pretty sure it murdered my heart. It was so adorable how Jack was getting ready for him, and then I was like omg he isn't gonna come noooo Jack is gonna be crushed! And then when he didn't come and he tried even harder next year...just man, my heart was dying. Please write a sequel!

Wow. Amazing. There needs to be a sequel to this! It is so heartbreaking to read, I have to see what happens when North finds out about this. Make him feel guilty! Seriously though the situation would be a great read and would make this story even better if it had a sequel with some warm fuzzy feelings. Don't get me wrong it's great as it stands, it would just be fun to have north's point of view and feelings after finding out about it and seeing wiether bypassing jack was intentional or not.
