Announcements / Notes: For those who have read my stories, I do hope you enjoy reading them and if you can, give constuctive reviews that can help me write my stories better. I also would like to tell you that I have a separate account to test out ideas for other fandoms / shows. Look for the username Kratos1989. Hope you enjoy some of the ideas I written there. Description of Rants: Rant 1 - WHY I DISLIKE STORIES PORTRAYING CHARACTER BETRAYALS / UNNECESSARY HATE: This is a bit of a peeve of mine. I do not like those stories where the characters go out of their way to hate someone out of some stupid reasons or not give him a chance at all, especially if the characters are supposed to be the good guys or some of them have worse issues than the main character. One of the examples would be the recent postings of RWBY Stories where Jaune gets hurt, abused and/or killed by his family, friends, teammates and the school students over the fake transcripts or some perceived weakness that is totally stupid. It is very illogical to subject the guy to so much pain over them, the guy wants to protect people, yet they act like it is the worst crime out there, especially for some of them (I am looking at you two, Yang and Blake! You two don't have the best track records around for your crimes!) And if you think about it, why would Ruby, Ren or Nora want to act that way? Pyrrha (good lord, this is another aspect I hate about these type of fics, they made my OTP destroyed) has some dubious reason where being a celebrity/ring fighter, she would be a stuck-up bitch who believes she could do better at leading the team and wants a better partner (ironic since she wanted to avoid Weiss). Those three though should be able to understand his feelings, especially Ruby. Not to mention for the little girl, her trying to subject Jaune to such pains and not do the same to Yang or Blake is hypocritical. THE WORLD IS NOT BLACK AND WHITE ALL THE TIME! The same goes on the other end of spectrum for Ruby Rose if she gets betrayed by her own team. Weiss I might get for being a self-entitled rich girl who wants her own way or hates Ruby for something else, but Blake is someone who is very hypocritical if she judges Ruby to be some girl too naive or too self-serving. Yang is another person, why betray her own sister for whatever screwed-up reason that could be. Another aspect I hate about these type of RWBY fics is when Jaune / Ruby forgives them or lets them go too easily. They hurt those two so much in the academy, they should be reported to the police or something. At the same time, it should be done in a manner that would be poetic justice, showing them their hypocrisies and showing the public how dirty they really are. On the other side of the spectrum, I do not like the parts where Jaune / Ruby go on a revenge warpath to make the whole world pay. It feels too forced for them. The authors who write these stories seem to make it their mission to write their lives to be as miserable as possible to justify the issue. If this is the kind of world and Hunters around, no wonder Ozpin wanted to keep the secret of Maidens in check. Heck, maybe that's why Jaune or Ruby are let into the academy in the first place, so that they could try to change the environment for good. Rant 2 - WHY I HATE STORIES FEATURING OVERPOWERED OCS / SI-OCS WITH QUICK HAREMS / SELF-FULFILLING FANTASY SMUT: Another issue with stories I noted in this site is the abundance of people featuring original characters or self-insert characters that do it for the purpose of making them so strong that they go and beat the villains senseless with no effort. It is painfully obvious when said characters start out as either your average joe with no notable qualities or some guy with an overpowered ability to take people down too easily. Another aspect from these types are the characters gaining the attractions of women around them. Now for OCs, I can be okay with them being paired with one or two, three would be my absolute limit. But when you have characters getting women with one or two chapters with hardly any effort whatsoever, that is the limit for me. It is like they just meet the girl for a short while and then poof in the next chapter or paragraph, girl falls for the character hard. Combine that with the pointless smut bit, and you would have authors writing out some one-shots or stories for the sole purpose of fulfilling whatever sick fantasies they have for the female characters, making it seem they are the attractive guys who can kick-ass, save damsels and get laid in no time whatsoever.
