Author has written 29 stories for Criminal Minds, Good Doctor, Frasier, and Evil. Hey, all! Little bit about me: My name is Angela, I'm from the U.S., Iowa, specifically, and I like to write and hope to one day make a profession out of it. I also enjoy reading and listening to music (would love to learn to play an instrument, but eh...chances of that happening, and me being good at it besides, are pretty slim). Also, much as I love my home country and all that good stuff, I've never, ever, been outside the U.S. to any other part of the world, so I hope one day to change that, too. Dream countries would include Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, and England (and Germany, too, 'cause of my ancestry and all that). As noted, I love music, so while I won't (or can't, per the rules of this site) do "lyric fics", so to speak, chances are pretty good some of the stories I write will likely be influenced by and include reference to or mention of songs/artists I enjoy. Favorite Musicians: U2, Neil and Tim Finn and all associated with them (Split Enz, Crowded House, etc.), Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay, Vampire Weekend, Oingo Boingo, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Bic Runga, Kimbra, and Gotye/the Basics. TV shows will be the main focus for the stories I write, and on that note... Favorite TV Shows: "The Twilight Zone" (specifically the 1960s original version, though the 1980s/2000s versions had their good moments/episodes, as has the 2019 version), "Evil", "Community", "Frasier", "Strangers with Candy", "Spaced", "Criminal Minds", "The Office" (U.S. version), "Sleepy Hollow", "Bates Motel", "How to Get Away with Murder", "The Good Doctor", and "Trial & Error". Out of that list, "Criminal Minds" seems to be the one that's providing tons of inspiration right now, and it looks as though that will continue to be the case. But someday I'll dip my toe into the other shows listed as well. As for non-sitcom/drama-related shows, "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" and "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" are a couple other favorites of mine. I write reviews for new seasons of "Criminal Minds" at . So if you're interested, feel free to come by and join in the discussion each week! And for those of you who are fans of other TV series, both network and cable, there's plenty of discussion and reviews available for those by other writers at that website as well. I am also on AO3 under the same name. I'm working on adding my current list of stories to that site, and will cross-post any future works I write to that site as well. May update this more later, we'll see, but there's a little "getting to know me" bit right there to kick things off. Hope to get to know some more people here, and look forward to reading/writing/commenting with everyone! 50 ONE-WORD ONE-SHOTS SERIES So this idea sort of came out of nowhere – just happened to notice how many “Criminal Minds” episodes have one word for their title, and I decided to have a bit of fun with that idea and write a series of one-shot stories based off them. Taking a cue from the way some other stories do things like this, it will be done alphabetically; as such we’ll be jumping around here and there through the seasons. Some of the one-shots will focus on one character, and some will deal with multiple characters. This series only goes up through season 8 - someday I may do a part 2 of sorts with the similarly titled episodes from season 9 onward. Hope you enjoy the series! *I’ll be technically cheating with one of the titles, because it's an abbreviation of one of the characters' first and last names. (gee, any guesses which character that would be?). But by putting it in it rounds the number out to a nice even 50. A massive thank you to everyone who nominated me for the 2014 CM Profiler's Choice Awards, and for the "Best Reviewer" and "Best JJ/Reid" wins in the 2015 PCAs. It's a true honor, and your guys' support really means a lot to me. Thank you all so much! The covers for my stories were created by the wonderfully talented DeejayMil (whose stories I highly recommend). Big ol' thank you to her for her generosity and time! |
