So, I read this whole fic quite a while back now and loved every second of it. The I bounced around rereading my favorite chapters for a bit, and a couple days ago I decided to read the whole thing again. That being said, this is probably the 6th time that I've read this chapter in particular, and it still managed to make me cry. It's so wonderfully written and so truly Penelope, and I just love it a lot. Thank you for the story!

One of the best things I have ever read. Wonderful collection of one shots that tied do nicely in together. I really loved Rossi and Garcia entries, but they were all excellent.

I haven't reviewed very much but I have read every single chapter. I've definitely cherished this whole story and always looked forward to the updates. I think you ended the whole thing perfectly. A little sad this is over but can't wait to see what you write next. :)

Oh, this is perfect. What a great way to wrap up this series.

First off, I'm just gonna take a moment to squeal at the image of Emily as a baby, 'cause awwwwwwwwwwww :D. I love the bit with her holding Elizabeth's finger-such a cute image. And it also seems fitting that she'd be kind of an active baby from the get-go, with her thing of trying to settle into her mom's arms and making little noises every so often. I also love the bit with her staring all wide-eyed and curious, and her eyes revealing an "old soul". I have no problem believing all of that was a natural part of Emily from day one :).

(I also like the idea of her not crying right away. I know that that happens sometimes with some babies in general, but again, somehow it seems appropriate that Emily took a second before doing so, for some reason.)

As for Elizabeth, always great to see her, of course, and I love getting this glimpse into her life. It's so interesting to compare her moments with Emily here to the previous chapter, and how Emily handled the moments with her kids after she had them. Emily certainly seemed a little more talkative around them than Elizabeth does around Emily. But it also makes sense that Elizabeth would just remain quiet in that moment. For one thing, I think she's right that it would be so overwhelming to know just what all to say in a moment like this, and for another, she seems the sort who puts a lot of thought into what she says before saying it, and seems a little more reserved, at least at this time in her life, in regards to saying aloud whatever she's thinking.

I also like how she tries to think up names for Emily that aren't tied to her family history, and her reasons as to why. I can definitely see her thinking that way. Again, an interesting contrast to Emily choosing names for her kids-with the exception of the name Tegan, they all have a connection to Emily's, and Morgan's pasts. Though it also seems fitting that Emily's daughter's first name has no ties to the family, just as Emily's name doesn't...almost like passing on a tradition among female family members.

I do like that she allows Emily's middle name to have a connection to her past, though-given Emily's struggle to find a family, her place in the world, over the years, I imagine having that link to her family history was a nice tether in some ways. It's also interesting that for all Elizabeth's determination to not have the weight of a family name on Emily's shoulders, she still prefers her family history carry on over that of Harrison's.

It's great to get the origin of how Elizabeth decided on the name Emily. I shall accept that that's exactly how the decision to name her played out :). Elizabeth getting all emotional over her daughter having an identity, being somebody, was very touching.

(Also, I like the other girl names Elizabeth had considered. Particularly Catherine or Charlotte. I could perhaps see Emily with either of those names.)

And of course, the most obvious contrast between Emily in the previous chapter and Elizabeth here-Emily was lucky enough to have Morgan at her side, supporting her through it all. It breaks my heart to learn that Harrison wasn't here for Emily's birth-another in the many reasons for the distance between him and his daughter, and certainly further explains why Elizabeth's dad couldn't stand him. And on that note, it's also quite interesting to hear Elizabeth admit to not liking Harrison's family in general. Definitely more of a story there that I'd be intrigued to hear about someday if the opportunity presents itself.

I completely understand Elizabeth's reasons for trying to make things work with Harrison, but it's still heartbreaking to know that she's doing so despite him not being by her side on such an important day, and that she'll be in for more pain and heartache with him, and that their relationship will continue to have the ups and downs it's been having already. Sigh. Thank goodness Emily didn't have to go through a similar sort of loneliness and pain.

On a happier note, though, it's very touching to hear Elizabeth reflect on her parents-her dad's advice, her mom talking to her after she was born. So sweet. I'm glad she has those happy memories and lessons from her parents to guide her going forward, and to help ease her concerns and worries about motherhood.

And I love her reflections on when she truly felt like a mother. I definitely believe that would take a bit of adjustment, referring to yourself like that, but it's great to see that she's embraced the role so strongly. And it's also great to see that despite all the ups and downs her relationship with Emily would encounter over the years, her love for Emily, as well as her desire for her to have a happy and fulfilling life, is very apparent from the get-go. Same with her encouragement of Emily's strong, independent streak. It's definitely easy to see where she got those traits. And I'm so happy that, as this series showed, Emily was able to eventually realize just how loved and treasured and wanted she was, is, and always will be, by her mom, by her grandfather, by her friends, by her children, and by Morgan :).

Lovely choices of quotes, too. It's so sad to see this series come to an end-I'm going to miss the variety of perspectives and the creative and unique conversations! But it was a fantastic, worthwhile read-I really do feel like I've learned so much about Emily as well as those around her through this series, and I love that. As always, you are very, very welcome for all the support and feedback. More than happy to share and offer it :). I cannot wait to see what other stories you'll share..

Fantastic ending. It's been fun.
