PrayerGirl chapter 1 . 5/26 Loved it! |
Mordelle chapter 1 . 7/29/2018 I’ve read this one before with satisfaction:: I’m a sap. Sappy, sappy hopeless romantic and you have supplied this sap with delicious words between my two favorite soulmates. |
BD-Z chapter 1 . 11/14/2016 I finally got to the internet properly to add this to my community here on Ffnet. I seriously love this story. I talked with the others that run the Beetlebabes group with me and we decided that it was rather unfair that the fanfic writers didn't get as many hits so we are making the next contest fan fiction only. Please please please tell me you will join it again. |
Annber03 chapter 1 . 11/8/2016 Awwwww, yay for happy endings :). I don't blame Lydia for being angry over the whole mess with Claire. She's got a valid point about how tough it is to explain this craziness to the townspeople, and I also understand her longing for a nice, quiet, uneventful evening with her best friend. Plus, she's a good person at heart, she's the moral compass Beetlejuice needs, and no matter how much she despises Claire, it's so like her to not want to actually see Claire in any sort of life-threatening peril. Hell, I wanted to smack the crap out of Claire for her nasty comments about Lydia's mom, and even *I* feared for her when she was caught in that web and the huge spider was coming towards her, and felt for her a little when she was crying afterward. I'm arachnophobic, after all :p. Lydia's right that Beetlejuice went a little too far there. That said, however, I also certainly don't blame Beetlejuice for wanting to retaliate against Claire and her cronies, and letting his anger towards them get the best of him. Claire really did say some truly low, cruel things about Lydia and her mom, and she did deserve a little payback. Wht she got may have been a little excessive, but if it makes her think twice about treating others like dirt, well, at least it'll have served some purpose. And I'll always love Beetlejuice doing everything in his power (literally :p) to protect Lydia :). Interesting revelations about Lydia's mom as well. Sounds like a rather tragic, upsetting past regarding her, and it makes me feel for poor Lydia all the more and want to hug her. Ouch. I totally understand her conflicted feelings about all of that, but I love the mature, graceful, non-judgmental way she's come to terms with it all. Again, so very like her. On a significantly happier note, I am glad they were able to have SOME fun on their night out. Lydia being able to get a little of Beetlejuice's powers and have fun with them was a blast-I didn't know he could do such a thing for her, but that's so cool that he can-and the fact that he did so in the hopes of making Lydia smile again just makes it all the better. Awww :). And I loved seeing Lydia getting a little mischievous with the powers as well :D. Proof of why she and Beetlejuice click so well-I love the moments when she can kick back and let loose around him. I do feel for that poor confused actor, though :p. Talk about an unexpected Halloween scare, eh? I also loved their discussion about real world bands versus Neitherworld bands. I get a kick out of the whole thing of some musicians getting to hang out with the legends who've passed on, and now I wish I could hear a Neitherworld band myself, see how out there and wild they can be! And Bertha and Prudence rocking out? AWESOME. You go, ladies! Beetlejuice cheering them on was cute. I'm glad they're out there having their own fun. The festival sounded like a cool one in general. The haunted corn maze, apple cider, some weird and quirky trinkets for sale, live music? I'd go! Given the eccentric nature of this town, maybe they'd be a little more understanding of Beetlejuice's abilities than Lydia thinks :p! And I loved the beginning, too, with the talk of how Beetlejuice and Lydia's friendship has developed over the years. So sweet that Lydia makes a point of making sure they have Saturdays to themselves, and I love the thought of Beetlejuice being by Lydia's side and supporting her through her schoolwork and searching out colleges. I can practically see his admiration for her hard work and efforts, and supporting her dream of going to art school despite his own personal fears about the impact of that on their friendship. Just love the little details showing how much he truly cares about her, how he wants the best for her. He's proven himself a true blue friend, and it's lovely to see that. Obviously, though, I'm also glad that he took a chance on moving their relationship beyond merely best friends. As always, I love the way you write the tension between them, particularly Beetlejuice's struggle to deal with these new feelings he has for her, and I chuckled at the way he couldn't keep his eyes off her throughout the night. It's so cute how he can make her blush so easily. Meanwhile, Lydia's interactions with him were appropriately subtle and sweet, and yet I've no doubt she was hoping for precisely the kind of reaction she got from him with her costume, too :D. She's definitely got a fun, playful devilish streak in her, after all ;). And that ending, with the kiss. Sigh. Absolutely perfect. Can't think of a better way to make up after a fight :D. It may be well past Halloween now, but I very much enjoyed this! You write these two and their relationship so perfectly :). |
