The characterizations here are so spot on! To me, the most important thing in fanfiction is to get those characters right, and the way you write Hotch is just so darn right! When I read his lines of dialogue, I have no trouble at all hearing his voice in my imagination. Wonderful story!

How the hell did I miss this? Why didn't I get an FF alert for my favorite author that I follow? *gives Hotch glare to damn FF gremlins*

Hi Thn, I am so sorry but I have no idea how I missed this one. I thought you hadn't written it since 365 ended and the only reason I found it today is because I got the email informing you had written a fic and when I read the outline of the other fic, I found this after 365. I won't be reading the other fic, not because I don't enjoy your work but because I don't read slash in general for any of my shows. But I loved this short piece. It was outstanding as always. 200 was a huge favorite of mine, maybe the best for the season, on par with the ep where the little girl was kidnapped and the finale comes 3rd.
Of course it makes perfect sense that HOtch would have this conversation with the unit chief soon after the unit chief woke up because its so true that its difficult for Hotch to protect his team when he doesn't know these details as what happened with Emily going after Doyle. This was so well written, I can practically feel what Hotch felt when Will asked him to explain whats going on with JJ and he didn't know the details. And I love the way Hotch started the conversation with the unit chief 'I want to talk about Integrity but not the project'.
Two thumbs up for a superb job and once again, apologies for the delay. I hope you've been well. Exams are in full session for me and I haven't watched anything this whole week - no issues cos shows are fortunately on hiatus.

I like it! I hope the characters had this conversation, it would do all of them a lot of good.

Outstanding story, loved Hotch's desire to protect his team and Cruz wanting to protect all the unit chief under him. Been missing your stories, hope u treat us to some more stories soon.

Stellar job with this; I could see this as a scene at the end of "200" or as an opening scene to the next episode. The moment at the end, with Hotch and Cruz just looking at each other, was great... understanding without need for any further words. Cruz may be the Section Chief, but there's no doubt this was a meeting of equals. I really enjoyed this... thanks!

Ahhhh, so good to see something new from you-I was looking forward to reading your take on "200"! Excellent stuff here-loved the way you used the double meanings of "integrity" here, and I loved the talk itself as a whole. Particularly Hotch pointing out how tough it was to look at Will and admit he didn't know what was going on, and bringing the mention of Henry in as well, that he's responsible for keeping that boy's mother safe day in and day out-that's a really good, really powerful point.

And I loved Hotch talking about how important trust is to his team, being honest with Cruz about all the past examples of how lack of trust nearly destroyed them literally and figuratively. And this bit: "It's not just my unit, Mateo. This is my family." Awww.

I do like that he understands Cruz' position in terms of having to deal with the politics, of having his hands tied, though-good bit of common ground for them to relate to each other on (same with Hotch's comment about knowing how Cruz felt with his wound. That was a nice touch, too). And it was good to get Cruz' perspective on this a bit as well. Here's hoping he won't have TOO many deep, dark secrets to keep down the line, that he will be able to work more closely with the team.

And, as always, you have them both totally in character, their voices and ways of speaking down so perfectly. I could hear Hotch's voice in my head as I read his remarks to Cruz. So glad you enjoyed the episode so much-I did, too! Fantastic piece, as per usual, and I look forward to what you come up with next. :).

So I don't know if you felt like it or not but did Reid's reaction to get again being lied to by JJ disappoint you? I know that's something small and it only noticed because he's my favorite, but maybe you could write something about it? Please? With Garcia on top! :)
