Author has written 10 stories for Batman. Hello all! My penname's Tigrislupa and...egad I've finally posted something (eek!). Other places to find my writing are on The Almighty Pharaoh and my joint profile, Chun1945. I also have accounts at Tumblr and Archive of Our Own under this penname where I'll post works. Works In Progress: Untitled Batman multi-chapter - In the process of outlining (It's going to be huge. The outline alone is over 17K words) Batman/Harry Potter - Co-writing with The Almighty Pharaoh Sequel to Incogneat-oh's Roses for Red (Robin) on Tumblr - Co-writing with Blackash Birthday fic for Neatoh Birthday fic for Vare Birthday fic for Ash Birthday fic for Fweeble Completed Works: Nightmares Surveillance The Cure The Fine Art of Cuddling Since You've Been Gone House Call Father Christmas Watch the Little Birdie Tap Out All right! On to my obsessions. I will just start by saying there is an overarching theme. I love slightly messed up father/son or fraternal relationships in a purely platonic manner. I have no idea why, but it makes me happy. If it is appropriate for the size of the character, if they are on the smaller side and that is brought up, all the better. Also, I generally don't like romance. Girls that are paired with the main character of a story tend to be my least favorite characters and...I'm sorry, I don't like that brand of mush. Another sort of story I don't like are unhappy ones. Character death and torture really don't sit well with me. Books: Harry Potter: Harry is my favorite character...when he's not being angry and emo and basically I like him pre-OotP. Some of my favorite characters in the series are Dumbledore, the Weasley twins, Remus Lupin (and not him acting all weird about Tonks either). I love reading stories where Harry finds a father figure. Ones where Harry is abused but doesn't lose his character are nice as well. By far my favorite, though, are the stories that give Harry a lot of power. Not enough to snap his fingers and make it better, but it is fun. Lastly, I cannot stand Ginny. As a general rule, I don't like to read stories pairing Harry with anyone. Alex Rider: Alex Rider is my favorite character in this series, followed closely by Smithers. I really do love it when K-Unit acts as his brothers/guardians. Artemis Fowl: Artemis is my favorite character. It's a bit tricky to find well written stories, but I do like stories with Artemis and Butler, or his parents. Basically well-written and intelligent fics are nice. I really don't like seeing Artemis with anyone. The characters either seem to be a Mary-Sue or are significantly older and of a different race than him. No thank you. The Chronicles of Narnia: Wonderful series. Peter is my favorite character...okay following Aslan. But I love seeing the Pevensie siblings interact. Romance isn't actually canon and I don't care to read about it. Comics: Batman: I love Batman and the Bat family. My favorite character, though, is Timothy Drake. I love seeing him, Batman, and the former Robins interact. Damian Wayne has yet to grow on me, so my head canon has stopped when Tim was still Robin and the little demon doesn't exist (to our knowledge) yet. Also, I love Alfred (who doesnt?). Not a big fan of Stephanie. Again, I don't like seeing Tim paired with anyone. (Reboot, what reboot?) Movies: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Tom Sawyer is definitely my favorite character. He and Quartermain's relationship makes me so happy. I really don't see Tom with anyone. Original Star Wars Trilogy: Luke Skywalker is my favorite character. It's always interesting to see the relationship he and Vader have. So many possibilities. I really don't like Luke being paired with anyone (Mara Jade). Rise of the Guardians: Jack Frost is a precious little snowflake baby and I love seeing the Guardians being an actual family to him. Lots and lots of hugs and cuddles for Jack. No more touch deprivation. And, as always, I don't have any ships. Anime: Fullmetal Alchemist: Edward Elric is my favorite character. And I absolutely love it to bits when he and Roy have a father/son relationship. HOWEVER. This does not mean that Ed has turned into a sniveling three year old who is incapable of not being around Roy without bursting into tears. Just...no. That is not Edward Elric. I really don't care that much for Winry, I really dislike her hitting Ed with her wrench and yelling at him and being a completely unreasonable person. So yeah, I don't like Ed being paired with anyone. Prince of Tennis: I love Echizen Ryoma. Seeing him being treated like a little brother by his sempai is wonderful. It would be great to see more stories with him and Ryoga too. And Nanjiroh actually acting like a father. While I don't hate Sakuno...she's just never really grown on me. It's a little painful to watch, actually. Her heart's in the right place...things just usually don't go well. And she usually just says "Ryoma" or "Ryoma-kun." Also, this a fandom that runs rampant with slash and...I just don't see it. It makes it really hard to find good stories to read. The New Prince of Tennis series has just been wonderful so far. Inuyasha: Inuyasha is my favorite character, and I love seeing him and Sesshoumaru interact. That's the reason why I finished the first series. Stories about the Inu family are nice. On the other hand, this series contains my least favorite character by far. I have a deep well filled with the most passionate hatred for a certain modern miko. She acts in a completely ridiculous manner and in my opinion often sits Inuyasha for unreasonable causes. As such, I can't stand to see her paired with anyone. I also see Sesshoumaru and Rin as father daughter. Sango and Miroku, however, are cute, and I do ship them. Bleach: Hitsugaya Toushirou is definitely my favorite character. He's an adorable lil' genius. I love where he has to depend on someone else, and it's even better if it's in a family fashion. Particularly with Ichigo, but a maternal Matsumoto is always nice. Or a paternal Gin or Isshin. I really really don't care for Hinamori. And Matsumoto...no, he cannot be paired with her in my opinion. She's practically helping to raise him and...I just don't care for it. Baccano!: Firo and Czeslaw are my favorites in this series. In a very weird way, I kind of like Vino. I haven't figured out why. There's entirely too little fanfiction to read about this category. Particularly about Czeslaw. I would have thought that the plethora of angst and abuse would have drawn authors out of the woodwork. I may have to fix this... Cartoons: Danny Phantom: Danny is my favorite character. I enjoy reading clever stories with him...ones sans romance. Teen Titans: I liked when they were serious and doing the whole Slade's apprentice arc with Robin. That...that was just amazing. After that they kind of lost me. Robin is still my favorite character. For all the evidence the show gave, I was never big on shipping any of them. Young Justice: This show has just been amazing and would be so much more wonderful if it would just stop going on hiatus. The plot is so serious and amazing, I can actually stand the ships (except for Robin/Zatanna but they said from the get go that he wasn't going to have a love interest!), and I really do like the animation style. Also, Robin is young and tiny and adorable and of course he's my favorite character. Games: Final Fantasy VII: Cloud Strife is my favorite character. I really do like to see fraternal interactions between him and Zack. Platonic interactions with Cloud and Sephiroth are good too. I really don't care for Tifa, though. Again, I don't care for romance. Zack and Aerith are always lovely together, in the background. Assassin's Creed: I've only played the first two games and am making my way through the third, but they are so fantastic. As much as I like Altair and Ezio, I'd have to say that Leonardo was just too fun to not be my favorite character. Haven't read much fanfiction for this, yet. From what I've seen, though...the mind does boggle a bit at all the slash when Altair and Ezio had to produce descendants to the point of Desmond... TV Shows: NCIS: Tony and Gibbs are some of my favorite characters. Abby and Ducky are, too. However, I love watching the father/son interactions between Gibbs and DiNozzo. It's a great show. Never cared much for Kate; Ziva's a little better, though. White Collar: Definitely my favorite TV show at the moment. Neal Caffrey rocks. His and Peter's dynamic is wonderful. As is his and Satchmo's. And Peter and Elizabeth's strong marriage is wonderful. And Mozzie's hilarious. And Jones is great. And June is delightful. And Diana is awesome. Never much cared for Lauren, though. I love reading about Neal and Peter's interactions, but really, any stories that read like the episodes are fantastic. Don't really like to read Neal paired with anyone, though. Sara is becoming...acceptable. Glee: Despite my abhorrence for vast amounts of drama...I can't help it, I'm hooked. My favorite character is definitely Kurt, and then they went and gave me a weird brotherly relationship with Finn? How could I not love it? And Burt has to be the best dad on TV ever. Also, despite my dislike of all things romantic, particularly with my favorite characters, I do like Klaine. Overall, Kurt is adorable and I love him dearly and want nothing more than for him to be happy. Bones: The characters in this are just wonderful. Booth/Brennan is one of the few pairings that I support and it's just so much fun. Haven't read much fanfiction in the area, though. So, yes, by now you can probably see that I'm quite the dork. I've grown to accept that fact. At least I pay attention to my spelling and grammer, right? One last note. All of the stories in my favorites should be complete. If it's incomplete, it goes in my alerts list until it is. I like being organized like that. Enjoy! |
