But I loved the line about the mushrooms, and how John is sitting there in panic mode while the Queen is calmly talking with a bored Sherlock and just... :D Brilliant job. I wonder if Sherlock stole an ash tray again...?

This was absolutely delightful.

That was quite enjoyable. I was actually surprised Sherlock was as polite as he was, but I guess he had nothing to gain from being rude, and it makes tactical sense to be semi-nice around the Queen of England. I'm not sure if John would have been QUITE as nervous as he was - he seemed to take Buckingham Palace in stride, and I think he has enough personal confidence that he would be impressed by the situation, but not necessarily intimidated by it. But anyway, I LOVED how completely Sherlock didn't care, and how he solved the case in about eight seconds and was ANNOYED. Because of course, it was simple, and I love how John was hoping the Queen didn't notice the lurking boredom.

Nice conversation between Sherlock and the Queen, she DID seem like a sweet but slightly stern great aunt, and Sherlock discussing Mycroft (civilly) was nice. "Like the other mushrooms" was hilarious. And I liked your description of Sherlock's "V-shaped smile" - whenever I rewatch the scene where he gives it to John when they first meet at St. Barts, I'm always like, "Oh god, that is the creepiest smile..." I also liked how Mycroft had already figured it out and Sherlock complained about how if he already knew, why did he drag him out, then? And the QUEEN thought they were a couple, too! Poor John...

Very funny I would like to read more on Sherlock background/family past being discoverd my John. I image it to be a very amusing read, I can just picture Dr. Watson being left alone the Queen. or a nice twist of who is Sherlock's and Mycroft Mummy really is what a laugh that would be would it not. lol any ways I have enjoyed this fic and could stop my amusement at John.
