Author has written 22 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm a Canadian, living in Toronto, with two thousand books. (Of all sorts of genres, but my major interest is mythology. I have two shelves of language study books, including Russian, Latin, Italian, Klingon, Elvish, and Egyptian hieroglyphics. There's a largish section of science fiction and fantasy, but lots of philosophy, theology, fiction, feminism, and poetry. Find me any book on the history of English or Indo-European languages, and I'm all over it. And the books always given pride of place, anywhere I live, at any time, are Dorothy Dunnett's two historical series, the Lymond Chronicles and the House of Niccolo. Followed closely by Tolkien.) I've studied Philosophy, Russian, and Philosophy of Religion in university (with a BA and MA in the latter), meaning I am exceedingly employable. (Har) (Would you believe I actually went to university planning to be an astrophysicist??) I'm an ex-(repeat ex, repeat EX)-fundamentalist, now living on the 97 percent atheist, 3 percent polytheist teeter-totter. I've been working from home since 2007, primarily as an editor but also doing some writing. I write novels (working on getting two of them published) and non-fiction (working at getting a book about fundamentalism published) and articles on books and cultural events, just for fun. I have written web content for several sites as well as ghost-written content for a subject-marketing company. I discovered anime several years ago, stumbling accidentally upon Gundam Wing. I depended mostly on Canada's YTV (Youth Television) channel for the discovery of new anime series on Friday nights, but they discontinued their anime broadcasts a few years ago, to my great grief. I also subscribed to our Anime-on-Demand channel and have discovered several new series that way too. (How weird is it, to hear Edward Elric's voice coming out of so many other characters!) I have an ancient computer and can't easily watch streamed anime online (and it would have to be free because I can't afford it otherwise), so I only get sporadic exposure to other series. FUNimation is great for that, though. I always kind of scoffed at the writers of fanfic. Harry Potter, Star Trek - it always seemed rather silly to me. Then, in the summer of 2006, I discovered The Fullmetal Alchemist, and halfway through the series - right after Episode 25, in fact - the thought floated through my mind: "I wonder just how Roy would ever have gotten through the night following Hughes's funeral?" And within a few hours, my first fanfic story, "Third Rescue," was born, and I was sunk. All my first stories were anime-based, but I knew eventually I'd end up doing some manga-based ones as well. And sure enough... So far, I only write FMA fic, though in fact I had written a few scenes years ago inspired by The Silmarillion, so it seems I was writing fanfic long before I realized. Still, I only seem interested these days in Fullmetal fanfic, so we'll see. I hope you're enjoying my stories so far, and having a great experience playing here. |
