Oh my god that was precious. The ending is about as perfect as you could ask for, the kind of hopeful feeling turned bittersweet since we know how it turns out for her.

This remake is going to ruin me.

I adored this story.

This is a good view, even though a lot of it was just repeating what happened in the game, it's been long enough that seeing it again feels new to me. Aerith's perspective is interesting, and reading this does make me want to cry a bit, for all her thoughts on Zack, it's just... sad, that she's thinking of him, and not /knowing/, and Cloud's here, except he doesn't /remember/.

Although what really really really gets me is the last part, I smiled at the last sentence, but knowing /her/ ending, it drives this sense of regret deeper.
