I like both Sam and Dean., Chuck: Chuck About Me: I decided to write a little about me. I have a disease. What I have is genetic. I’ve had this disease since I was around 7 years old, but just recently has gone a little downhill. It makes you tired, it attacks your bone marrow, give you a weakened immune system (this is why I don’t work and hardly go out. When I do go out I carry around a bottle of Hand Sanitizer with me.) and it might give you cancer. It also makes you have mental difficulties, which is why I have trouble with math, grammar and English. I use Microsoft word Spelling and Grammar tool and it seems to work. I am transfusion dependent right now. Which means that I have to have two units of red cells every two months. It used to be every three months, but has dropped from three to two and once in a while one month. I have been recently informed that I have gum cancer. Which is what this disease can give you plus other cancers too. I have to go back a couple of weeks back to the Doctor and they will tell me what needs to be done and then the same day talk to the Anesthesiologist. The day before I have to go into my regular clinic and get a transfusion. I will have to have a platelet transfusion and possibly a blood transfusion too. I also don't have a lot of platelets either along with not many white cells. When I had my biopsy I had to go in the day before and have a blood and platelet transfusion. It had to be the day before because platelets only last a couple of days. No, I won't tell you what I have. I haven't even told my friends what I have. The only one's that know what I have is my family. This coming week I will be going to the ENT Doctor and that's when he will tell us what's going to be happening. Then after that I will be going to the Anesthesiologist. Then the next week I will have my surgery. The ENT Doctor is still not sure if they are going to take my two back teeth out and cut the gum under the teeth, or if they will leave them in. The surgery went well. They took out three of my back teeth and the Doctor put a graft on it and then used stitches to my tongue and the other side of the gum and a bolster to keep it from moving. This last week the stitches and the bolster was taken out, but it still kind of hurts. I will go back to the ENT Doctor next week and after that to my regular clinic. Looks like I will be having another surgery done next Tuesday. The ENT Doctor said that there's more cancer on the gum. I will be going back on Monday to have another transfusion and on Tuesday I have the surgery. Update: December 12th: They took out three teeth and cut to the bone of my gum. They put in a skin graft to go over the bone and then put in a bolster. It kind of hurt after a while because it was sewn(stitches) to the bottom of my tongue and to the other side. A few weeks after that he told me that I would have to go back into surgery because they didn't get all of the cancer. Did you know that cancer can be in teeth? I didn't know that cancer could also be in teeth, but was told that when we saw my Doctor again when he told us I had to have another surgery. This time they had to take another tooth out too. This one was a better surgery because it didn't hurt as much as the other one too. After all that and it was better I went to go to have my teeth cleaned and then had to have a wire in the back of my teeth because the front three teeth were loose. Update: December: 21st. I had a call a couple of weeks ago saying that my bones were getting more thin. They had to do a recast, or reclast. Since they do this through IV they next time I had a transfusion they would do the recast which they did last Friday. It only took 15 minutes which was shorter than the transfusion. It will last 12 months. Update: In May I will have another surgery. It looks like I have a lession on my Epiglottis that has gotten a little bit bigger. They were going to do a biopsy of it, but it had gotten a little bit bigger plus my platelets were low. So now I have to go in for a transfusion of two units of red cells and one unit of platelets before the surgery the next day. - 2010. Update again: Was in the hospital last year and this year during the months of November, December, January and Febuary and now this last week of August. Was supposed to have three units of red blood cells, but only one was given to me because of a fever spike which happened the day before too. April 7th 2013 Update. I don't know what's happening. It seems the last two transfusions they are having trouble getting the IV in. During my blood transfusion it took seven sticks. During my platelet transfusion it took six sticks. My hand is one big brusise and my arms are also bruised. This last platelet transfusion and the one before the last one I had a reaction to the platelets which is weird because I never had reactions before like that. I also wrote a bunch of Pretender fics under a different penname: fojg24aka24 |
