![]() Author has written 26 stories for NCIS. Who is Proseac? I discovered NCIS in the summer hiatus between seasons 6 & 7. The promos for Truth or Consequences intrigued me, but it was tuning in late at night to watch House, and catching the tail end of The Meat Puzzle, that got me, hook line and sinker. David McCallum, lying on a slab in a funeral parlour, the victim of an apparent blood-letting! And oh, heavens, there's Mark Harmon, coming to the rescue! And... OH MY... who is that gorgeous young specimen with him? Tony, they call him. Wow, how have I not seen this before? What IS this show? Must. Watch. Every. Episode. NOW. And watch every episode I did. All out of order. Which led to some confusion, as you can imagine. And so was born The NCIS Daily Drabble, which turned into the Weekly Drabble, which ground to a virtual halt with the arrival of Sam Ryan. After that serious bout of writer's block, I finally managed to finish off the season. Sadly, before I could get much further, the quality of the writing on the show began a slow death spiral, and I lost my mojo again. I do intend to finish the drabbles up to the end of Season 13 - and believe me, that will involve some significant sacrifice, since, given a choice, I would never subject myself to viewing the travesty that was the Season 13 finale, aka Tony's "send-off" episode, ever again. I have my own theory about the reasons for the shafting that Michael Weatherly received in the last two seasons, and this isn't the place to discuss it, but suffice it to say, there will be no more drabbles after 13x24 because the show died for me with Tony's departure. All that said, I can happily continue to live and write in the earlier seasons, as well as putting out AU material, and I hope to do so for a long time to come. My new, long-awaited multi-chapter fic, set in between Seasons 11 and 12, will be posted here and on AO3 on October 18th, as part of the 2016 NCIS BigBang Challenge. I'm very excited to get this story out on the interwebs at last - it's been a true labour of love, and I'm very proud of it. I also owe a great debt of gratitude to my Beta, Scousemuz1k, and the fan artist, Seleya889, for their outstanding work and assistance on this project. I hope if one of my recent shorter postings brought you here, you'll go back and check out some of the old stuff too. Feedback is awesome; feedback on old stuff is doubly awesome. :) Some personal tidbits: I'm a cat-lover (like most writers, it seems), and currently live with one very demanding little 15-year old tortie named Abby, believe it or not. No, she's not actually named for Ms. Sciuto - she came to me a full three years before the NCIS premiere. Call it a happy coincidence! I'm a runner. After 27 years of sedentary sloth, I put on my shoes again and took up the sport once more. Discovering that after 30 seconds I felt like dying was certainly a wake-up call. I started back at the very beginning, and worked my way up from there. I ran my first marathon on May 3rd, 2014 - The Cincinnati Flying Pig - where I had the great pleasure of meeting my online NCIS pal mamamia1964 in person for the first time. I now share my love of running with others as an instructor at The Running Room, and am planning to run a couple more marathons, including the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC in October of 2018. Life is good. I'm a jazz freak. You have no idea how much joy it gave me to learn that our Tony is a Coltrane fan. I live in Canada. And no, we don't have snow in September. How is it possible that the producers of NCIS know more about Iraq and Afghanistan than they do their neighbour to the north? It's sad, really. “Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand." ― George Orwell |
