Author has written 56 stories for NCIS. As some of you have already figured out, I've been on hiatus from my stories. It's not intentional, and I DO plan on getting back to them eventually and finishing the hanging ones and continuing the, well, continuous ones, 'Refuge' and 'Unconditional'. Without going into the gory details, life has interrupted most of my well-laid plans, so time will tell. I have a continuing tendency to write in a very scatter shot manner, which I know is annoying to some readers, but as much as I'd like to swear I'm going to mend my ways, I'm pretty sure I won't. It just is what it is, and I write what I'm inspired to write at the moment, and what I have the time for, and just put it out there for whoever wants to read it. I'm open to constructive criticism, but I will delete reviews that are just plain vulgar or, as someone did once, self-promoted their own story without any review, replete with the site reference to it. I've only ever deleted two or three reviews since I started posting on this site. If someone wants to flame or troll, well, I usually leave it posted along with all the others for the world to see what a loser they are, especially if I have given ample warning that I may be writing a favored character in a less than favorable light. I've always written in the NCIS fandom, Tony and Gibbs, no slash, just father/son, hurt/comfort, angsty stuff mostly. I also pretty much only write what I consider AU, unless a canon episode has inspired me to put out a one-shot or short story. My AU consists of the team as Tony, Cate, an occasional McGee, with a more mature Abby and not so nasty Gibbs. In other words, the show as it was the first season and a half. Tony is less juvenile and more competent agent. Again, like the show's first season. I may write outside of the this fandom eventually, but right now I'm not doing that great of a job keeping up with the current one. Just FYI, I started writing fanfic back in the 70's before I realized that that was what I was doing. It wasn't until I very accidentally discovered it in 2010 while searching for SG1 vids on the computer that I came across this site and to this day, I still can't get over the fact that not only am I not the only person on the face of the earth who wrote stories about their favorite t.v. shows, I'm still in awe that I can read hundreds, thousands of well-written stories by other like-minded folk. Still blows my mind. I write and read fanfic for relaxation and as a sort of meditation/therapy, so in reality I write for myself, but I also try to be respectful of my readers and listen to what they want from my stories, especially when it's asked for in a polite and respectful way. I don't have a beta anymore, because I like to post when I have the time and urge to post, so it's just my tired brain editing. Beware of mistooks, and no, I generally don't mind having them pointed out to me in a polite or humorous way. |
