It hit me just as he took the wallet and Peter asks for it back, after all that contemplating Neal was doing, just why this was named "The Test". It made me rather sad at first, yet maybe viciously happy, that he wants that reassurance enough to go and do that, to see if he can confirm that what Peter said was REAL. And it is. I'm glad he gets to find that out, that even Peter realizes what he wants, what he's up to.

It's hard, I think, for Neal to sometimes see what so many other people see - which was made clear in this about him wearing the anklet, but being bad not being in his blood. I REALLY liked that line because I agree, and it was such a nice way of putting it, too. (:

LOVED the ending. "I'm quite the catch, aren't I?" Oh, Neal, you couldn't resist, could you?

Love this story. Neal reminds me of the 2 year old I watch. Both are extremely sneaky. The little boy swiped his moms credit card out of her wallet one day without her noticing it at first. I think Peter is the only person whose pocket Neal can't pick. He always knows. lol

Wow, this is so beautiful! Neal's so sweet and insecure and wants this relationship so badly, and I love that Peter recognises it's a test and doesn't just brush him off, and I love that he tells Neal he's his kid again just because he needs to hear it (and doesn't mind that he's a little klepto, lol!).

Also that threat was perfect! :) This is definitely one of my favorites of your fics :)
