Runewulf chapter 4 . 6/16/2017 I really like the re-enactment angle; some years ago I was involved with Regia Anglorum, an English re-enactment society, but our period was earlier than the reenactors in your story - 930 AD to 11.20 AD. From William the Conqueror until Edward 111 the nobility were Norman/Plantagenet and spoke French. Sadly, nobody was made to learn French - pity but we did our best for authenticity. I can see a gentlemanly character like McGee being a knight, and his Irish name fits as there would have been Irish visiting nobles in England keeping an eye out for trouble - in 1067, a year after Hastings, the Normans invaded Ireland' The young children of Harold Godwinson, who was killed at Hastings, had been taken there for safety and the Norman kings feared them returning as adults. Anyway, this explains the French place names in parts of Ireland. I love the way your story is going, although NCIS has moved on - we have season 11 on 5USA and recurring all early seasons on CBS. I have seen some of season 14 on youtube and feel the writers could have done better with McGees character; but well done Sean Murray for staying loyal to the program. I am glad I'll be able to read this in one go. :) Great so far. |
Ytak chapter 10 . 5/25/2017 Been going through your stories, starting with the oldest. But this is my favorite and will likely remain so. Everyone was so in character and it was humorous to boot. I was actually imagining this as an episode and bemoaning the fact that it wasn't a real one. |
9199942-Delete-account-please chapter 10 . 5/14/2017 This was really good is there going to be a squeal for this story. Cause if there will be I for one can't wait to read it. |
Suse B chapter 10 . 3/21/2017 Still makes me laugh. I hope all is well with you and you soon feel like writing. I love your humorous stories like this one and Camping With Gibbs. |
Melissa chapter 8 . 12/22/2016 I Really like the way this story is turning out. Everything from the clothing described to the different 'language' (not modern English), to the interaction of the characters is amazingly wonderful. I'd like to see Fornell, Vance, (perhaps his wife), & a female character for Mcgee. I don't know if Kort would really fit in a scene like this (the story may lose something with a character that do easily lies through his teeth, with a demeanour of Kort). |
Lady Elizabeth-Jayne chapter 1 . 11/15/2016 Hi I've just finished reading this story (for about the 100th time). And just wanted to say you did a brilliant job combining the two worlds and show casing a hidden side of McGee. A sequal would be great though! |
