I've been reading Fanfic for a long time, and writing it for almost as long, and finally got around to publishing some of my stuff. Hope you enjoy!

My theory on Fanfiction:

I had a friend poke fun at me today for writing Fanfiction, and this is what I returned.

I can change the course of the entire series with one simple action.

Situation 1: Petunia is a witch. She never becomes jealous of Lily, because she, Lily, and Severus attend Hogwarts together. Severus has another friend. He does not join the Death Eaters. Even if Lily does die, Petunia doe not hate Harry because of his mother, and she has a dear friend to help her raise Harry.

Situation 2: Harry is sorted into Slytherin. Need I say more?

Situation 3: Tobias Snape was not abusive. Severus was a softer person. Still friends with Lily, perhaps he became a Ravenclaw, as we know he was atoundingly intelligent. He made friends, not colleagues. He did not join the Death Eaters. He and Lily remained friends because of this (and James does not hate a non-Slytherin). Severus would certainly not allow the child of his best friend to be hidden from him in a world that he is comfortable in.

My stance on Twilight:

I greatly dislike the books. Check out the site Reasoning with Vampires for a much more eloquent description of why than I could give. What I do love is the creativity that has grown from the phenomenon. Twilight fanfiction is second in size only to Harry Potter on this site. I am capapble of patiently sifting through the mediocre stories to find gems that I appreciate reading, and it is worth it. Many of the stories exist in a world where vampires are not real, and the characters meet through different means. I love these stories, and I don't really consider them fanfiction: It is more like picking up a regular fictional book from the library. They are so very different, and many of them are written by extremely talented authors. I myself have written some Twilight fanfiction, although I use the term loosely, because the basic idea behind some of her characters are actually pretty decent. That being said, I am one of the sort of people who completely change Edward's character. His relationship with Bella makes me ill just thinking about it.
