OK. Remus Lupin was a likeable teacher. He was capable. He still brought three kids out to help him take on a man he believed to be a mass murderer. When there were more suitable adults available. On the night of the full moon. And yes, he skipped the potion designed to keep him from eating them. He also knew that Sirius was an animagus and that he knew a number of secret passages into Hogwarts, information which he didn't bother to share. He DID NOT know that Sirius was innocent. My howlers would be going to Albus Dumbledore, two or three times a day.

You have such creative ideas that seem so obvious when one thinks about them, and everything is settled with an amusing simplicity (never mind the intentional humor- well done with that).
