Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. I'm 21 years old. I love reading in my spare time and whenever I can. I am a Psych major getting ready to transfer to APU. I found Fanfiction a few years ago and it took me a while to get used to some of the ideas some authors had but when I did, I was hooked. I like exploring where a story "could" have gone. My favorite Fanfics are about Harry Potter. I have started to get into crossovers but I'm kind of particular about them. I like Manipulative Dumbles. I'm a fan of Weasley Bashing, but only to a point and only ever Molly, Ginny and Ron. That's not to say that I only read those types of stories. I'm pretty open minded about the story, as long as it's well written. Though, not a huge fan of Evil! Harry or Evil! Hermione, I will read them if the first chapter is well thought out and written. However, I am a fan of Dark! Harry and Hermione, just not evil. I recently got into the "Wrong Boy Who Lived" genre, which prompted me to try writing a story like those. I also am a big fan of Reptilia's Challenge for a H/Hr do-over. I have one in the works, but I'm stuck and decided to try something else until I can figure out how to get past this writers block. I've been reading Fanfiction for years. I only recently decided to try my own hand at writing it. I have read so many stories that I can't even remember where I got some of the ideas. So if any author recognizes some of their ideas in my stories, please let me know through a PM so that I can give you credit, I don't want to seem like I am taking ideas from other people without giving them credit. I don't know how often I will update, I know a lot of people, myself included, hate it when an author starts a story and either doesn't finish it or takes forever to update it (especially when it is good!). I will try my best to not let that happen with my stories, but life does happen and I will apologize ahead of time. Any and all constructive criticism is welcome. I am new to writing fanfiction and could use some tips, however, I do not want flames, they will be ignored. If you don't like how I write or where the story is going, then don't read the story, it's that simple. One of my biggest weaknesses, I think, is that I'm a bit OCD about Grammar and Spelling. However, when I write, I sometimes misspell words or use improper grammar. What I don't like, however, is when it continuously happens. I am a bit OCD about it. One of the biggest ones that I see is when the word should be "definitely" but the author puts "Defiantly". The two words mean completely separate things. However, I digress. When I am done with a chapter, I try to go through it and make sure that there are as few problems as I can. But if, after I've already posted a chapter and I find a mistake, my OCD will kick in and I will edit just that small word. Finally got a Beta for my stories, so there should be less mistakes in them. What with two people looking them through My stories: Harry Daniels series - I have the basic plot line for the story and am starting on the first chapter. It may take me a little longer because I have decided to take a few bits of advice to heart. I'm trying to drift further from canon and trying to make it my own. I have book three written in outline form so I should have regular updates, except when I have exams and papers due. My beta reader is slowly going through my last 2 stories and editing them for me so I may send the first chapter to her but it depends on her schedule and if she has the time to go through my chapter along with the others that she is a beta for. Update: 6/23/12 I have recently started working on a novel to publish sometime in the future, as well as a HP crossover fiction. I am by no means abandoning my Harry Daniels series! I have put too much work into it to throw it away at this point and besides, I hate it when other authors do the same. I am simply saying that updates may be a bit slower in coming. I still plan on trying to complete a chapter every two weeks, however I have started to send them to my beta before publishing and so I will wait until she sends them back to me before updating. I do this because I hate having to find out from readers about the mistakes in the story and have to go into it and find them individually. It's tiring and time-consuming. Update: 7/10/12 I have been getting quite a few PMs about grammar mistakes in my stories. I am going to edit out the mistakes and try and get rid of them. I've read that it is irritating to most of the readers and when I reread all of them, it was irritating to me too. So I'm going to fix it and re post them when they are fixed. |
