Update 12/12/19 -

Hi All,

I am still writing on both stories although Pearl is taking up most of my time at the moment as it only has two chapters and an epilogue to go. My writing time is still severely restricted at the moment, but I am trying to organised my time better so that I get more time to write.

At the moment I have about nearly 11K written for Pearls next chapter and 6K written for AFW's.

Sorry for the delay but RL what can you do?

A few things about Pearl:

1. The story is happening in a single night, both Daphne & Harry are remembering how they met and what has happened to them since as they try to sleep, so the scenes are supposed to slip seamlessly between the present and past. I get that people want delineation, but its problematic for the way I want to write the story.
2. Daphne and Harry see and remember things from their own perspective, so for example Harry isn't going to know what demons Daphne faced to get to the point where she wanted a physical relationship with him, all he remembers are the little physical touches and then that first kiss. But Daphne remembers working hard with both Katie and Iris to get to that point.
3. You aren't seeing everything that happened these are the highlights and lowlights or the pivotal moments that happened during that time in their relationship.
4. Yes there is a large cast of supporting characters this is to show the growth of Harry's circle of friends and demonstrate that he has more people that he can rely on.

I also have another couple of story ideas floating around in my head but I won't start any of those until I at least have Pearl finished.

Other Stuff I think about or about me

I am old enough to know better, but young enough not to care.

Pet peeves about the HP series:

1. I really don't like the way the HP story ends, I mean Ginny!!! Come on no guy gets with a girl cause she looks like his mum (Okay so it has been pointed out to me that she doesn't really look like his mum, but I am still standing by my unhappiness with this pairing. It's almost like their relationship came out of nothing - love potions anyone?).
2. Ron and Hermione, I mean come on please, arguing is not a basis for a relationship, there surely has to be more but I can't see it (see comments below).
3. Hermione is so driven that she would as she does throughout the series run all over Ron, she can be bossy but she means well, she just needs someone to call her on her own bad behaviour.
4. Ron could be smart for all I know his chess ability indicates that he has a tactical mind but he hardly ever shows it all we ever see of Ron is a lazy boy with poor manners, he convinces Harry to choose subjects cause they are easy not because they are going to help them in their lives. He is a good person but has no drive at all to be better.
5. To me Harry should have been the force to unite the houses not continue the ridiculous feud, I always pictured him ending up with a girl from Slytherin or at least from another house and I was so disappointed when this didn't happen (hence why I started reading and now writing Fan Fiction).

With regards to pairings, I prefer reading the following pairings

HP/DG (No.1 preference if I am honest which I am) (See my profile avatar to see what a 7th year Daphne looks like to me),

HP/TD (something about those Slytherin girls - we need more Tracey Fan Fics),

HP/SB (Susan Bones every-bodies favourite Puff, so handy that her aunt is in law enforcement),

HP/MJ (Megan Jones another Puff but one we don't know much / anything about really),

HP/SL (Su Li all round kick ass ninja warrior - yes cliche I know),

or a HP/Delacore kind of guy (French, Veela, Intelligent, Sassy, Blonde & Beautiful what more could you want from either sister)

I have also found some remarkable Harry / Hermione stories lately and have taken some time to read a few of them too
