| mockingbird13 chapter 50 . 7/14 Love this fic! The crack is really well done and it never carries the story entirely away! The plot changes were cleverly managed and I liked it that Harry had moments where he was like "I honestly can't remember this detail" because I know I'd definitely be in trouble if I tried to redo my past, like no way I'm gonna remember everything perfectly. I also liked how all the characters were handled and how their personalities developed in a way you could see and how it all made sense, like with Neville's increased confidence as a result of Harry bolstering him earlier, and Draco being basically de-fanged and given more "friendly" things to fight with Harry over, like gossipy rumors and embarrassing merchandise and things. Also, it was hilarious to see Harry, in hindsight, calling out all the blatant house favoritism and things he missed as a kid the first time around. Luna was a delight, as always, but I didn't expect to grow as fond of Lockhart as I did, and Draco had a much less stressful run of things in this timeline. Poor Cedric probably came out with the most lasting effect, lol. Maybe he could use that as a workout aid? Like get a track list with grave-yard related songs or poems and use it to motivate him to run? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to write this! I like to re-read this whenever I feel like being entertained without a lot of stress, but want some thing longer, consistently well-written, and more engaging than the more typically short crack fics. :3 |
