So...hi?

It's ya girl, Alyss Heart.

My best friend and I decided to start publishing our fanfiction that we wrote in class instead of paying attention in the summer of 2011. We were freshmen in high school at the time and now we're both 22 and on our way to graduating from college. I haven't really touched this profile-let alone this website-since roughly 2013.
I don't really write anymore, to tell you the truth. And I haven't been in touch with my friend in a few years now, so I don't really know what they've been up to lately.

When I look back on these stories, I do honestly cringe. In my opinion, they're just objectively bad. I debated deleting this entire account and every single work on it.

I was never a very good writer, Selena was always the better of the two of us. But I loved writing. It took my mind off of the stress in my personal life. It gave me something to do when I was bored. It was a creative outlet that my constant daydreaming needed, and I will be forever grateful for this website and the communities I was a part of. I remember getting so excited to see another person who's writing I loved and looked up to reading and commenting on something I had written, and feeling absolutely on top of the world. I remember nights staying up late to read the last chapters of an update I had been waiting weeks for.

Fanfiction and Tumblr opened up my worldview to endless possibilities where I could see representation of people I wouldn't see in my life until college. It wasn't perfect, especially in those early days, but I credit fanfiction to Selena and I discovering more about the world around us and finding acceptance and community for who we would discover ourselves to be.

Looking back on everything we wrote and published to this site, it's hard for me to believe that we felt so good about our writing, and that people enjoyed it as much as they did. But despite all of that, I love every single work I have posted to this site. It's like a time capsule of a time period in my life where I was finally discovering who I wanted to be. I learned so much and grew so much thanks to these dumb stories.

So if you're still reading this-wow that's really nice of you.

If you saw our last update back in 2013 you have probably guessed that we will no longer be active on this account-ever.
Thank you to our newer readers (like I said, I still get those email updates, I know I'm not typing into a complete void), I hope you enjoy the product of our time here on this site. To our old readers-I don't think you're still on here but thank you for giving two 14 year olds the confidence and desire to keep doing something they enjoy.

It's hard for me to come up with a closing to this, because I never saw myself ever updating or coming to this website ever again, so I'm at a loss for words as to how to close this out. I was never very good at endings.
But I guess this isn't really the end of my story, just the end of another chapter.
