Dear FFN Admins,

I'm writing in regards to a recent rash of scathing, hateful, venomous reviews that my friends have received from guest reviewers. There is nothing "constructive" in these reviews. They are spiteful, hurtful, and dangerous. They are bullying. I will include examples of the reviews at the end of this message.

I know that since the reviewer has chosen to remain anonymous, I can't report a specific person because I can't *prove* who it is. My request is that you reconsider allowing authors to block or completely turn off anonymous reviews. It's one thing to have to ability to monitor the reviews and select what does or does not appear in your published reviews, but even so, those hurtful words cannot be unread. And if an author is to be forced to see such vitriol, they should: 1. Know who is sending it, and 2. Have the ability to defend themselves. As it stands, they have neither.

These reviewers (and I use the term loosely) can hide behind the "Guest" label or use pseudonyms not tied to an actual log in and not have to endure any consequences of their actions while talented authors are subjected to hate speech that is dangerous and unhealthy. No author on this site should be subjected to such things. This site should be a safe place for all to express their creativity. Not a place for bullies to spread their hate under the safety of anonymity.

So again, I ask that you please reconsider your current policy and allow authors to turn off anonymous reviews like they've been able to do in the past.Thank you for your time.
