I just really started writing fanfiction to get back into the process of writing. I love the Harry Potter series and it is a big part of my reading curriculum. I sometimes joke and say Harry Potter saved my life. I had a very streetwise difficult class one year. My students range normally between nine and ten. That particular year I had some eleven year olds, and a twelve year old in my class. I could stand on my head and not inspire my students. I took out The sorcerers Stone and started reading it out loud everyday to the class at the end of the day. I was amazed. They waited all day for the time when we would have a literature circle, I would only read it to them if all my regular classwork was done and we didn't have any incidents at specials or lunch. Most didn't even realize when they put together a Harry Potter Yearbook and survival guide for first years that they were actually learning reading comprehension and writing skills. Since that year my grade level was able to get a full set of The Sorcerers Stone and The Chamber of Secrets. We even have a sorting and my class is grouped into houses and awarded house points for a prize at the end of the year.

My favorite pairing is Hermione/ Severus. In my stories Hermione is in her twenties and moving away from a relationship with Ron. I never really liked the Hermione/Ron relationship, he just seems too immature for her. I picture her with Snape or even one of the marauders easier than with Ron. Unlike some I don't want to kill off Ron I just want him to disappear. Remus, Sirius and Fred are alive and well in my stories as well as resurrecting Snape. Sirius was such a great character I couldn't let him stay dead, killing off Remus and Fred was a shame and well do I need to mention why Snape should have lived? His character is so rich. Anyway my Severus is based on Alan Rickman in his late thirties and early forties, think Die Hard. Sirius is a combination of Johnny Depp and Hugh Jackman. Remus, well there's Sean Beam the actor who played Borimir in Lord of The Rings. You may also notice Tonks and Remus are estranged in my stories, didn't get the pairing, still don't get it.

I am a romantic at heart and I would like to think had Snape survived he would have made the decision to move away from all the hate he had and move forward with his life. It would have been great to see him interact with the others in a more cordial way. And really looking at Alan Rickman how could we think of Snape as an ugly git.
