![]() Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter, Mass Effect, and Twilight. Well I suppose it's time to update the good ol' profile, so here we go! I am a 25 year old soldier, and when I'm not humping packs up hills, I love to write. My love of fanfiction came about when I was just ten years old, and I had just finished reading Philip Pullman's 'His Darkest Materials', more specifically the Amber Spyglass. I was so incredibly hacked off with the ending because Lyra and Will had just confessed their love to each other and had to live their lives apart because of the flow of 'Dust'... and Will, the upstanding young man that he was, shattered the subtle knife. I went down to the stationary store, grabbed a book and a pen, and then proceeded to write a sequel... which, at ten years old considering the patience I had, was about two pages long and it was finished. I wondered, at that point, just why it didn't seem realistic that Will found a way back to Lyra, confessed his love again, explained how he did it, and then proposed to her within eight hundred words. And then I found this site. The very first fanfiction I read was 'The Real Us' by Seel'vor, and if you haven't read it then do so. I was amazed that somebody who wasn't even getting paid could put so much time, effort, and thought into such an incredible piece of fantasy, and I didn't understand why until two years ago when I posted my first fic (a Naruto fic) called 'A Loving Secret'. The first review I received was short; a simple "Great first chapter, can't wait for next one", but I swear I was half-way to the moon. Considering it was a first time fic, and I was rushing to put out the chapters I was so excited, it was of mediocre quality, and it progressed way, way too fast. The characters were acting too old for their ages without explanation, Naruto was damn-near god-like invincible, and eventually I lost steam because I hadn't planned it out, and everything was just too easy for the main character. Admittedly I'm still a sucker for god-like powers for the main character, and I just can't wait for a romantic relationship to form, and as many of you would notice I just can't resist immortality (because let's face it, sometimes life can be cut short and that's just sad)... but I do like to think I've progressed from my child-like, eight-hundred-word-long-to-completion fanfics. Oh, and soul-bonds, LOVE them. So I hope you enjoy my stories, constructive criticism is definitely welcome, however flames will often be relied to in a rather snarky manner -- despite the fact that I've found several such reviews immensely amusing. I leave you with one of them that I look back upon fondly: - "completely boring, unbelievably dumb and so sickningly cliché that i may as well have read 'my little pony' and 'how to fall in love in one hour' combined. Nothing new in this fic, so predictable and what is with the 'most powerful wizard since godric and soul bonding with luna in 15 minutes?' well, you need a LOT of work to makethis story anywhere interesting." sarah-rose76646 sniff, wipes tear from eye* makes me smile every time. |
