Unigirl2009 chapter 2 . 11/29/2019 The previous reviewer was spot on. Too many holes and important parts of the story was left out. When you didn't describe the ritual, I knew that you were taking short cuts to avoid having to explain anything. As an example, one fic I read had Harry going into battle and the chapter ended. The next chapter stated he defeated Voldie in the first sentence; no battle, no description, nothing. The author sheepishly admitted they just didn't want to write the final battle so they left it out! It's sloppy, lazy writing and it ruins good stories. This started off a great fic and with some revision, it could be one of the best HP fics that bash Dumbo-dore and Won-Won. I'm sorry but this fic started so well and ended up being so disappointing by the end of the first chapter. |
BelfryBats chapter 12 . 5/15/2019 This was almost okay. It started well enough and had interesting concepts, particularly the use of the portraits of former headmasters. Using them to start things off as well as training aids was nifty. Unfortunately it goes downhill from there. It feels a bit like reading half a story with the lack of explanation. Harry undergoes a ritual that increases his power dramatically, of which almost nothing is explained. Dumbledore does terrible things and yet we only get a rather superficial understanding of them and his master plan. Voldemort seems like a side note with practically nothing said about him. Then we get to the inconsistencies. Harry's power seems all over the place. First he is dueling dozens of Auror level wizards no problem then after wrong footing Dumbledore and stopping fiend fire Harry gets hit by a potion of all things. It is odd that Dumbledore could manage that and a bit strange that he would even have such a specific potion rather than something more debilitating or distracting. It also doesn't help that your chronology is rather off. Not only does it seem like there are two summer breaks, the ages of the students and the name defense teachers do not fit in with the time frame. Basically this story had potential and could be pretty solid, but its not. |
Andrew Peverell chapter 12 . 4/7/2019 Nice story mate. |
WhiteElfElder chapter 12 . 12/1/2018 I have to wonder if it is a good thing that Harry and Luna have "Hell" illusion for fighting in as that is something that can be figured out by the enemy and turned against them. I like the conclusion of the story. |
WhiteElfElder chapter 5 . 11/30/2018 Harry should make it so the barrier around the town appears to be working, but in fact amplifies the fact that a spell was cast to alert those that monitor for such things. Either that or find a way to nullify spell casting completely. |
WhiteElfElder chapter 2 . 11/30/2018 If that one trinket in Albus' office changed Harry into an unusually large Phoenix, does that mean it is likely Harry's animagus form? |
ExiledValkyrie chapter 9 . 10/18/2018 your months are all mixed up. June is at the beginning of the summer. check the whole fic over. you'll see what I mean. |
Monster King chapter 12 . 10/2/2018 Great story |
missgsmith51 chapter 11 . 7/23/2018 Snape really needs to spend some serious time with a mind Healer, so that he can learn to let go of old grudges. I don't even know how the man can occlude his mind when it so overflowing with hatred of Harry. Maybe he needs to have Luna clear the Wrackspurt infestation out of his brain. Surely he must have the worst infestation ever, possibly worse than Voldemort. Perhsps McGonagall should make it a condition of his continued employment. "Fawkes ran interference with the Weasley family for the rest of the day – although there were a few close misses with levitating couches and Ginny at around midday." I would love the details on this! I would also like to see the Pensieve memory of Molly being Obliviated. Tell me, was Ron also Obliviated? Ginny isn't a seventh year, so I'm assuming she was. Harry has some loyal friends and supporters, I will say that. That curse sounds horrific. I'm glad Harry and Luna survived. I hope the rest of the good guys did, as well. |
missgsmith51 chapter 8 . 7/23/2018 I'm confused. I thought the year Harry and Luna trained was his sixth year, and the summer they just spent together was the one AFTER his sixth year. This makes it sound like they are now in his sixth year rather than in Harry's seventh year. :/ |
missgsmith51 chapter 7 . 7/23/2018 Ottery St. Catchpole ... Harry truly wants to live that close to the three traitorous Weasleys? Yes, I realize not all of them are traitorous, but the three who are live there. I half expected Ron to be one of the thugs picking on Luna. I wonder if they're related to Anthony Goldstein. They were definitely creepy, rather like DEs in training. Can Harry truly get rid of them and re-establish the town as a safe place to live? |
missgsmith51 chapter 5 . 7/23/2018 "... Harry attended classes, was best friends with Hermione and the traitor, blatantly flirted with Ginny ..." Blatantly flirting doesn't sound like shy Harry. I would say tentatively flirting would be more like him ... and far less conspicuous. Can the doppelgänger stand up to the treatment Harry gets, if the Dursleys decide to renege? Will Harry's Order "minders" be able to tell this Harry isn't ... kosher? What if one or more decide to talk to him? What about nosy Hermione? I take it Xeno has no problem with Harry and Luna? Will he keep their secret, however? |
missgsmith51 chapter 2 . 7/23/2018 I'm curious ... Did the ritual remove the Horcrux from Harry? Fawkes surely knows about and passed on his knowledge of those abominations.I can't imagine Magic allowing it to remain within him. It's going to be difficult to be around Ginny and Ron knowing about the love potions. That reminds me ... is Ron using a potion on Hermione? |
missgsmith51 chapter 1 . 7/23/2018 Well, that was certainly different ... and a bit scary. I can't help thinking that, while Harry will gain a lot of power, he's going to have Dumbledore on his tail in a much more dangerous way. He's going to be quite angry that Fawkes left him for Harry, once he realizes it. Question: Does the fact that Fawkes gave Harry all of his knowledge and experience mean he has withdrawn or weakened what he gave Dumbledore? It sounds as if Dumbledore did not enjoy all of the benefits of the familiar bond, given he was unaware that Fawkes had broken the bond years ago. Perhaps Dumbledore saw him only as a glorified messenger and a flashy "ride." If he didn't truly commune with Fawkes, perhaps Fawkes was lonely. |
Guest chapter 1 . 2/10/2018 Great |
