![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. My name is unimportant. I am a female, who is in her mid-twenties. I love to read, and can often be found with a book in hand, or my eyes glued to my computer screen, reading the next Harry Potter fanfiction. I prefer reading finished stories, which are more than twenty thousand words long. When there are no new completed fics which interest me, I prefer fics with more than sixty thousand words. I'm what many would call unsociable. I prefer the written word, and the stories it can bring me, to the inane ramblings of those in my age group. The written word is a powerful thing, that calls into power a story which plays out before your eyes, your imagination further broadening the plot. To each person reading the words, different images will appear to accompany them, bringing different meanings to the individual characters. That is true power. I am an avid reader of the Harry Potter fandom, yet I can not stomach the cannon couples. RON/HERMIONE Who in their right mind would think that Ron, who is a lazy, jealous, and unambitious boy who seems to think that everything should be handed to him, could possibly be a good match for Hermione? She is an intelligent, caring, ambitious woman, whose friendship with Ron is utterly ridiculous, and wouldn't exist without Harry. He constantly uses her for her brains, and takes her help for granted. HARRY/GINNY Harry absolutely despises his fame, so how is it at all plausible that he would fall for his number one fan girl? He doesn't even pay her attention, simply thinking of her as his best friend's little sister, and suddenly they're in love? They do not correspond through the whole hunt, yet they end up married with kids? It is entirely implausible. The beginning of the HARRY/WEASLEY friendship really bothers me. Why would Mrs.Weasley who has been taking her sons to the station for years, ask what the platform number is, in a rather loud, carrying voice, for all to hear. It is not exactly something forgettable, considering she also would have arrived at that platform for seven years of her own schooling (no matter how far back that was). In all honesty it seems like a complete set up. Another thing that bothers me. Why would Mrs. Weasley send Harry a sweater for Christmas without knowing him? Hermione never receives a sweater, nor do you ever see any of the other Weasley siblings friends with a sweater. So why Harry? It seems all together way too suspicious. The Dumbledore situation is also very suspicious. He apparently knows everything that goes on inside the castle, and yet, he never noticed that Quirrel was possessed? Nor did the portraits inform him that the monster loose in the school was a Basilisk? He did not know that Umbridge was using a blood quill on students? His biggest faults by far, is allowing all the death eaters in training stay in the school, simply because he thought they could be redeemed. For a man who is tasked with the well being of the students he is certainly not doing a good job. Leaving a child in a basket with merely a blanket for warmth on a doorstep, in the cold November air, and not checking up on said child? Putting a highly coveted object behind obstacles a first year can pass, sending the students to their common rooms when a troll is loose in the dungeons, when the Slytherin common room is located there? Allowing the school to remain opened while a monster attacks? The list goes on and on. I really think that Ron holds Harry back from his potential throughout the books (along with the Dursley's) and that Harry could be much more intelligent if he allowed Hermione to be the bigger influence of the two. Harry consistently skives off school work, when Ron hassles him to play chess, and Harry not having had friends before, plays the game to keep his friend happy. The Dursley's did not allow him to have access to his school books during the summer, which causes all of his summer homework to be below par. This is a work of fan fiction using characters from the Harry Potter world, which is trademarked by J. K. Rowling. I claim no ownership over the characters, or places found within this story. Harry Potter and the associated people, places, spells, and objects were all created by the brilliant J.K. Rowling. This story, and all of my future stories, will deviate from cannon by a fairly large margin. I create this solely for my own entertainment, and make no profit from these stories. If it weren't for the fantastic works of Mrs. J.K Rowling, I would not have this wonderful sandbox to play in! April 27 2015: Hey there. I know many of you have been disappointed with the fact that I have not added to "The Butterfly Effect" in quite some time. I am going to take a week or two to plan out, chapter by chapter, where I would like this story to go. I hope to be posting chapters again quite soon. I am still fairly busy, but if you ever have questions, or ideas, I always answer.
