I'm a long-time reader, never been a writer. And through all my years of wading through various categories of fics, I've compiled a list of some of the best fics in their respective categories (based on my reading preferences, of course). As the fics I read are often, if not always, of the romance genre, I've also compiled a list of 'ships' I support.

Naruto: -Naruto/Hinata (by far my favorite pairing) -Neji/TenTen -Sasuke/Sakura -Shikamaru/Ino -Shikamaru/Temari -Neji/Sakura
-A new favorite, I've watched all of the anime and know of part of the future plot in the manga. There are also some weird pairings that aren't too bad. On an unrelated note, does anyone else hate Sasuke with a passion?

Bleach: -Rukia/Ichigo (a guilty pleasure) -Inoue/Ishida (for kicks) -Hitsugaya/Hinamori
-My new obsession, this series is one that I ignored for the longest time but regret doing so. It seems few people write fanfiction for it, and my friends are reluctant to get into it, too. Spread the word, and don't let this great series go unnoticed!

Teen Titans (cartoon): -Robin/Raven
-There aren't a lot of fics out there for this couple, and there are way too many Robin/Starfire fics out there for my liking.

Buffy: The Vampire Slayer: -Faith/Xander
-I don't particularly like the show, when they made Faith go bad and every story arc after that. The pairing is weird and definitely in the minority, but for all the reasons it's unlikely there are more that say these two are kindred spirits. I mean, if Buffy could end up with Spike and Xander with an ex-vengeance demon... Look underneath the underneath, as Hatake Kakashi (Naruto) said.

Full Metal Alchemist: -Edward/Winry
-There aren't enough fics for this couple. And of all the categories, I wouldn't have expected this one to have so few fics in general.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR!): -Revan/Bastila
-One of the best games anywhere! Bioware is amazing.

Inuyasha: -Inuyasha/Kagome
-A new interest, and I don't know much about the story. But, the fanfiction is interesting.

Danny Phantom: -Danny/Sam

Dragonball Z: -Gohan/Videl

Card Captor Sakura: -Syaoran/Sakura -Eriol/Tomoyo (Can you imagine how evil they could be? Together?)

Kim Possible: -Kim/Ron
-Ron's antics are just too funny, and Kim and Ron's relationship just screams romance.

Digimon: -Takato/Ruki -Takeru/Hikari -Taichi/Sora -Takuya/Izumi
-It's been a long time since I've read anything from this category, and some of the best Takari is by CyberDracomon(under my Favorite Authors list).

Final Fantasy 7: -Cloud/Tifa -Sephiroth/Aeris(Aerith) (Strange, but good.)

Smallville: -Clark/Lana

Shaman King: -Yoh/Anna -Ren/Pirica

X-Men Evolution: -Kurt/Kitty -Scott/Jean

Random Rant:

So one day (the very day of this update) I'm scouring the Teen Titans listing page for a Robin/Raven fic because -- big surprise here! -- I rather like that couple. And I do take a chance on a fic that might or might not include the couple I like. But when I go to the author's page to check if perhaps this person has listed his/her couple preferences, I see a rant similar to this one; I didn't like what I saw. Why does this someone have to lord his/her coupling over anyone else? The author puts a section telling of couples the person hates and claimed that there is"no proof, no evidence, no romance spark" when it comes to Robin/Raven. Then he/she proceeds to recite some Almighty Episode Names, like "Nevermore" or "Date With Destiny," that are supposed to somehow sway me to believe that clichéd or canon pairings are ultimately better than my own opinions?

I couldn't care if this person thought that Robin and Raven getting together would end the world as we know it and cast us all into a demon world. I hope anyone who sees this will read this not-exactly-eloquent rant and come away learning or reaffirming the idea that if you don't like something, then don't seek it out or disrespect it.

(The person mentioned shall remain forever nameless because I do not believe in having some kind of Bio war and because this is a rant aimed at everyone and every category of fics in general.)
