Reviews for The Blood Tipped Feather
Guest chapter 20 . 12/18/2019
Guess this is a crack fic now. This chapter was beyond unbelievable. Countless examples of stupidity, more and more crack situations, the beyond aggravating angsty bullshit, the lack of any and all explanations thus far, and the disgusting parodies of people you use as characters has made this no longer enjoyable to read.
Guest chapter 19 . 12/18/2019
And of course moron harry is too fucking stupid to suggest using a pensieve? Of course there needs to be stupid soap opera drama and pointless angst.
Guest chapter 18 . 12/18/2019
More of the retarded air head.
Guest chapter 16 . 12/18/2019
Not a fan of this Luna or hermione. Hermione is being portrayed as a bitch and Luna as a retarded air head.
Guest chapter 4 . 8/18/2019
If they were like their parents Ron would be Harry's father pure blood raised by a good family Hermione would be Harry's mother muggleborn who is really smart and Harry would be Snape the half blood abused by his relatives and having to deal with a dark lord

Okay I almost screamed at that ending and I would have if not for my unwillingness to inform everyone of my reading fanfiction at this time

Damn this was an amazing story and you have no idea how much I was tearing my mind apart trying to figure out how you would wrap things up in only one chapter before I saw you mention the sequel

LOVE LOVE LOVE Luna being portrayed as an actual 3 dimensional person rather than just ooh look at the pretty thestrals so many fan fics portray her as
you gave her depth and substance and also gave her a relationship with Harry which is also one of my favourite relationships

Loved Hermione being slightly manipulative and being called out for not having any faith or trust in Harry and Ron to survive without her
I loved the growth she went through in this story and I really preferred her at the end of this sstory which is not often the case. Love Hermione butt she has flaws and so many fics and the films too just make her this perfect being who can do no wrong. Loved seeing a reason why Cho was wary of Harry meeting Hermione after their date rather than the typical ooh I'm a girl so I must be jealous
And it makes so much sense! We always see Hermione through the eyes of her friend Harry and she is his friend so he naturally overlooks certain bad traits. But hermione is scary and manipulative and obsessive at times which is fine! People have flaws! That's what makes them people! But everyone wants her to be perfect when she isn't, she's human
Also loved the RON positivity! I myself can be guilty of not giving Ron the love and credit he deserves as I saw the movies first (I know! Heathen! The shame!) so I did end up with an initial impression of him as selfish with all of the flaws the film makers could chuck at him
But I loved seeing Ron be completely supportive and not jealous at all! Like Ron grew out of his jealousy by 14/5 so he wouldn't be jealous Harry is spending his time at training. He's just a good bro

So yeah, basicallly I loved loved LOVED this story and you better believe that after I post this review and favourite this story, I'm going in search of the sequel because I NEED MORE! HAHA
missgsmith51 chapter 11 . 4/5/2019
That was one scary dream, vision, or premonition. I can sympathize with Harry not wanting to try and sleep after waking up from that; however, he sometimes does some unbelievably foolish things. Having been told of the threat on his life, and suspecting that Malfoy is (or probably soon will be) a DE - along with other upper year Slytherins - going off alone in the wee hours is very stupid. Hogwarts has been anything but safe for Harry over the previous years, and it's even worse, IMO, with this warning. I think we can expect attempts on his life, possibly via such betrayals as occurred in his dream.

"... [Harry's] kind of… broken inside, and having a friend doubt him on top of his many doubts (I see him as having many doubts, like any teenager) really hit a nerve." I can't help wondering if Hermione is doubting him ... or trying to undermine him. She has an image of second- or third-year Harry in her mind, and she won't let it go. She is very quick to criticize Harry for things like breaking the rules or disobeying a teacher; but who was the one who hounded him into teaching the DA? That was a major rule breaker.

That whole scene about how he can't do anything without her; if it weren't for her, he would have done poorly on his OWLs; he needs someone like her to help him with his studies; etc. Is she jealous of Luna? Seeing them together seems to trigger her bad moods or anger.
missgsmith51 chapter 9 . 4/5/2019
Why is Neville's Toad not kept in a nice, large, glass terrarium with plants and bugs? Harry's ponderings bring back a thought I had many years ago ... that Trevor is an animagus or some sort of guardian.

After what happened in year four, Harry should never give an autograph ... ever. It could definitely be used against him. Not wise, puppy-dog eyes notwithstanding.

That was a rather eventful meeting. Snape was obnoxious, as usual. I wonder if Voldemort will expect him to just pull his wand and kill Harry. I guess this adds a new edge of danger to Draco, Theo Nott, and their Junior DE cohorts. With DEs in the Castle, Harry is just as much a target as he would be anywhere else, making Dumbledore's precautions rather useless.

Hermione was rather insulting in her insinuations about Harry's research capabilities. I hope he competes with and beats her for a magical research spot. Perhaps that is what concerns her. Hmmm. For all of her hounding and nagging Harry and Ron about studying, I get the feeling she would be most put out if they bested her.
missgsmith51 chapter 8 . 4/4/2019
"I was going for a more light-hearted chapter and to start the Luna Harry romance on its little journey … I think I made it quite clear that there is some affection there."

Who couldn't love Luna? There is something so gentle and winsome (I always think of that word in connection to Luna) in her character that I always feel her presence must be like a balm to Harry's battered, wounded soul. I do not see that quality in either Ginny or Hermione. Both are too strident.

I wondered about the Hat. Hermione voiced my instant feeling about what was happening. They had failed to heed the Hat's cautions through the years, so it was finished talking ... for now. I suppose this is its way of protesting.
missgsmith51 chapter 7 . 4/4/2019
I've often wondered about the Longbottoms and whether there might be something else in play besides Cruciatus damage. Could there be foul play by someone at St. Mungo's? Could there be some additional curse involved? With Bella and the Dark Black family magic, who can tell?

So Harry beat Hermione's Transfiguration score, eh? She probably irritated the examiners with written portions that were too long and not to the point. It will be interesting to see.
missgsmith51 chapter 6 . 4/4/2019
Hermione was incredibly annoying in this scene and truly did cross a line. The thing is, all of these things are aspects of her character. You are just emphasizing them a bit more heavily. She IS bossy, and she IS intrusive. In fact, her demand to know Harry's personal business really irritates me, even in canon. I'm glad the boys maintained a united front in the face of her demands. I doubt, however, that either Neville or Ron can't stand firm if she isolates one of them. I guess we will see.

As to Luna and her "creatures," I recently read a fic which speculated that what she calls Nargles are students being mean and bullying her. Wrackspurts are kids who seem confused. It seems as good an explanation as any. I can't remember to what she attributed the wildness of Hermione's hair ... but it was included, too.
missgsmith51 chapter 3 . 4/4/2019
Hermione is definitely annoying. LOL about the Hermione/Hermes the Owl mix-up! Hermione is lucky she hasn't been involved in more mix-ups, given the way she barges in on the guys without warning. If they were to treat her as she does them, she would cry foul for certain.

I'm rather surprised that Hermione has so grossly neglected her parents. I generally blame it on Dumbledore and the Weasleys possibly casting spells or using potions to make her want to leave the Muggle world behind, especially if Ron has set his sights on her or Dumbledore has determined that she is essential to the defeat of Voldemort. Other Muggleborn students - the Creeveys and Justin Finch-Fletchley, for example - don't seem to ignore their families to that extent.

Hermione is rather rude to and dismissive of Luna. I should think she would be more sensitive, given her own experiences as a child. Treating Luna badly will not endure Hermione to Harry.
ClockworkClara chapter 17 . 2/28/2019
I’m really enjoying the story but please please find a person to write in and stick with it. It’s very jarring to be jerked from third person to first, especially when up until now and Luna’s POV it’s always been third. Please fix this, as it disturbs the flow of the story and that’s a shame, because so much thought and creativity has gone into it!
PeculiarOrphan chapter 10 . 2/24/2019
So far I'm really enjoying your story. The only thing I don't understand is why Harry, after realizing that he was causing himself more prolems by avoiding conflict with Hermione and Ginny, hasn't slapped them down yet. After that realization I can't imaging, if I were in his shoes, putting up with it any more.
