Confessions of a slippery slope:

I am currently writing not 1, not 2, but 3 Snape Mpreg Fictions. This was not my idea to start with. I mean, I like Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Riddick From Pitch Black. But as previously confessed, I adore Severus Snape to the point of addiction. I read Gen and slash but normally only if he is there in a staring role. For years I'd avoided Mpreg fiction. The first time I clicked on one by accident, I thought: What? Male pregnancy! EEWWW, yuck! Then I sneered at my screen.

The second and third time too.

After months of sneering I saw a positive review for one and I thought: to each his own, it has nothing to do with me. But the next time I found myself looking at one, I started to click away then changed my mind and tried it. It was a particularly bad one so I went back to avoidance. Then an author I like wrote one, and I said I'll try it again. After all it's a magical wizarding world, and really, is it that much different than Skele-Gro or other strange wizarding medical issues? And I liked the fic. 'A Life More Ordinary' by Lexin

In fact, it became one of my favorites. And I tried another. It was good enough to keep me clicking. Soon I had gone through most of what I could find. And reread the good ones over and over. I wanted more. Lots more! Think Columbia and Magenta together in Rocky Horror Picture Show- leaning forward in panting fascination and chanting Moe! More! More!

Wanting more fan fiction to read is nothing new to me but I’ve always avoided writing like the plague! There is just enough Severus fan fiction out there to keep me going and more than enough for me to maintain my avoidance behavior. But as with my addiction to certain rare Severus pairings, there just wasn't enough MPreg that was readable. I was too impatient to wait for other stories so I thought, just thought mind you, that I might try my hand at writing it. Still no writing on my part was accomplished. Unfortunately that meant virtually no additional Mpreg. Weeks later, I broke. It was time. I wrote the following and am continuing to write more. Voila!
