Author has written 110 stories for Supernatural, Stargate: Atlantis, House, M.D., and Stargate: SG-1. I wrote my first FanFiction story in May 2013. I was really surprised to see how many people had looked at my profile page in the month of May 2013, before I even started writing. I suppose that is because I am a prolific reviewer and people wanted to know who their kibitzer was. I am retired and live in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles, which is, unbelievably, the porn capital of the known universe. Well, at least I didn't know it until recently. Simply by virtue of living so long I seem to know a lot of stuff. My background is in Legal and Accounting and I have had a life long fascination with the Egyptian civilization, astronomy and thoroughbred horse racing. Zenyatta and Man O' War are two of my favorite horses. I always answer my reviews and PM's and am also almost always available. Love to chat. I only write Supernatural stories because that is just about all the TV I watch. I used to watch Dr. Who but my favorite Dr. is still Tom Baker. I remember Dr. Who back when all the cave floors were flat and the Dilecks were bubble wrapped garbage cans. Yes, those were the days! Hee, hee. Millions long for immortality who do not know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon. - Susan Ertz “If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”― Stephen King PET PEEVE: Writers using the word "voiced" as a verb. It is an adjective and is used in conjunction with either other actions or words such as "he voiced his objection" or "shrill-voiced". In phonetics is used to differentiate between voiced and unvoiced sounds. It is not to be used as a replacement for perfectly good verbs such as "said" or "answered" or "replied" . Stop it! It's annoying and makes you look desperate. Think of something else and check it in an on-line dictionary if you have doubts. 2nd PET PEEVE; "ORBS" INSTEAD OF EYES. It Just grates on me. Makes me think of people walking around with marbles in their eye sockets. Creepy unless you are talking about demons and even then I don't think using Orbs is justified. 3rd PET PEEVE: "HUSKS" used as a description of someone's voice. I know what you are trying to say. You are trying to describe a deep, dark, husky, sexy voice. Ok, but this word doesn't cut it. A husk (noun) is the dry external covering of certain fruits or seeds, especially of an ear of corn. Husk (verb) is to remove the husk from said ear of corn. Husking (noun) is the act of removing husks. Please, please, please stop it. When I read this word used as a description of someone's voice it make me think, for some reason, that the guy is trying to clear his throat of phlegm (noun) thick mucus secreted in the respiratory passages and discharged through the mouth. So not sexy. 4th PET PEEVE: SHUTTER vs. SHUDDER: My God people, what is wrong with you? How can you even begin to confuse the word shutter (noun) a solid or louvered movable cover for a window, with the word shudder (verb) to tremble with a sudden convulsive movement? It is just carelessness or can you really not tell them apart? I just don't know what to say. I would think it was just an accident but I see it all the time! 5th PET PEEVE: "YOU HAVE ANOTHER THING COMING": Look people, the old joke is "If that's what you THINK you have another THINK coming." This one has been around so long it has hair on it. It's circled the earth and orbited the moon. It's funny because of the repetition of the word THINK. Please, please, please stop writing it as "If that's what you think you have another thing coming." Look at it. It's not even funny. It doesn't even make sense. I see it constantly and for some reason it makes me foam at the mouth and want to howl or at least leave snarky reviews. Get it right. FINALLY THE ALWAYS ANNOYING: The ever popular "your vs. you're" and "its vs. it's". Those possessives without apostrophes get you every time, don't they? Look them up. That unnecessary apostrophe can completely change the meaning of your sentence. Sometimes they're even good for a unintentional laugh. Do you find yourself reading about Sam Winchester's HAZEL eyes and wondering what color that might be? I know I do. Here's the answer: Hazel eyes - from Wikipedia: Hazel eyes often appear to shift in color from a brown to a green. Although hazel mostly consists of brown and green, the dominant color in the eye can either be brown/gold or green. This is how many people mistake hazel eyes to be amber and vice versa. This can sometimes produce a multicolored iris, i.e., an eye that is light brown/amber near the pupil and charcoal or dark green on the outer part of the iris (or vice versa) when observed in sunlight. Definitions of the eye color hazel vary: it is sometimes considered to be synonymous with light brown or gold, as in the color of a Hazelnut shell. From :light golden brown, as the color of a hazelnut. xxxxxxxxxxxxx Fire and imagination are the foundations of the most interesting people, xxxxxxxxxxxxx LeeMarieJack passed away March 14th/15th at midnight 2016. She was one of the most incredible people I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. We met on Fan Fiction in March 2013 after Lee did a follow/favorite on my second story ever. Being a newbie to Fan Fiction it never occurred to me to answer reviews people left. After her second review Lee sent me a pm and told me, quote, “get off your high horse and answer me damn it!” I answered and Lee ended up being one of the most important people in my life though we never met in person. We contacted each other just about every day, collaborated on several stories and became true friends. Lee didn’t take up writing until later in life and discovered she had a true talent. Her stories came from dreams, research and a vivid imagination. The woman had a true gift. I’ll always miss you Lee and I feel truly blessed and enriched from knowing you. Winter Gray xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx First off, this is the one time that I absolutely HATE writing. One day, about a year ago, Lee PM'd me to gently nag me if I would update a story she liked. We hit it right off. We had the same interests, SPN and horse racing. Lee was very tolerant of the nonsense we both saw on FanFiction. She christened herself “Pushy Woman.” She called me “the Queen of the Cranky People.” I have some medical problems, not as bad as hers, obviously, but she was always cheerful, always there for me to give me a daily push. She was a beautiful person and now the world seems a little darker with her gone. RIP, Lee. I'm going to miss you, Pushy Woman. You pushed me for the last time, my friend, and it's all good.
