News about the story

May 2019: That's it. The last chapter was posted today. Thanks for everyone who followed me during all these years.

I know that several readers want me to write companion pieces with the Ri brothers' POV. I'm sorry to say that I currently do not have much inspiration concerning that. I have though added a one shot about Bombur's engagement, and a two-shot (I'm not sure this is actually a word :P ) about Bifur. I really like Bifur's character, I think there's a lot to write about him. I hope you'll enjoy those two companion pieces.

I am writing "To Become a Dwarf" simply because Nori is under appreciated and was complaining about it. I hadn't planned to ever write a story taking place during the Hobbit timeline. And I DEFINITELY hadn't planned for it to be this long.

English is NOT my first language, so I hope I won't make too many mistakes and I'm trying to use all the vocabulary I know to avoid repetitions, but it's sometimes proving difficult...sorry for that but hey, try to write something in another language before flaming me please.

If you notice some mistakes/ either in English grammar, or spelling, or in the plot/ please don't hesitate to contact me via PM. Honestly it's entirely possible (I dare say it's actually inevitable ) that I'm forgetting something or end up completely lost in the count of time my OC has spent in ME for example.

To answer a few possible questions about To Become a Dwarf:

Yes, the story starts pre-quest and includes the quest in later chapters (around chapter 40-something) and will most likely continue after the quest. No, I will NOT rewrite the movies' script when we arrive at the quest part, though I will follow them, and re-use some scenes in them, I do believe you've watched all the movies (or read the book) so I don't see the point in simply re-writing everything that was in it. Yes, it's a Nori/OC but as I said in the summary it's a slow romance...and when I say slow, I mean SLOW. So be patient and keep reading, the romance appeared already in the posted chapters. No I won't add any other POV than my OC's, so it means you're all free to interpret Nori's (and the others) actions/reactions as you want. Yes, I'm taking some liberties with cannon facts: the age of the dwarves for example. But I'm trying not to go too far. I want it to be believable. No, I don't speak Khuzdul, so Yes, I'm bound to make mistake when I use it (though I don't and probably won't use it much). Yes, I like to create problems for my characters (but let's be honest, the Hobbit story is just a succession of problems...) and I do love to cut chapters at the most annoying moment for the reader. No I don't know anything about medicine, so Yes, I might write something completely unrealistic, I'll try not to though. No my OC doesn't know anything about ME. Yes, people like that still exist :) ...

A little warning too.

1. This story is starting to turn into a monster. I mean it. I hope you like long stories because this one will probably be LONG. The current count is over 1400 pages... and it's still on-going.
2. There will be mention of violence, death and other adult themes in the story. I do not plan on sugar coating events that are not supposed to be cute or fun. War is war. Death is death. And this is a Middle Age era where not every man can be as noble and honourable as Aragorn and Co. The rating system does confuse me a bit. If someone strongly believes I didn't rate properly this story and should turn it to M rated, please be kind enough to PM me.

The opinions or topics mentioned in my fic are not my personal thoughts. I am not my OC and my opinions are not reflected in her. If there is a topic or an opinion voiced in the story that you feel offending to you or your beliefs, I can only say I am sorry and I do not mind discussing with you why I chose to write about it in PMs, BUT do not assume it reflects my personal opinions and beliefs.
