Hey.

Right, so no one cares, but I really try to be aware of the language I use on this site. I avoid insensitive language and gendered terms to the best of my ability, though granted this is only something I've done more recently. Probably starting with An Inside Joke you Really Don't Want to be in on. Before that, I had no grasp of how my language can hurt or exclude people. One day I want to go back and amend my terrible writing, but the task is a little too daunting at the moment. In any case, this is something I'm pretty passionate about. I know some of you are scoffing and thinking I'm overly sensitive, overly politically-correct, or whatever else dismissive idea comes to mind. This is something important to me. I'm not going to push my opinions on anyone, expect the same level of sensitivity, or even judge others. But it's something I value. And so, if you notice I don't use certain phrases, or don't assume genders on occasion, this is why. I am expecting some hateful messages from this post. I've already experienced this on this site, unfortunately. But too bad.

I care about this.

And bouncing off this topic, I'm going to go ahead and say that the most important, fulfilling piece of writing I have ever done is Let it All Unfurl. It is one of my most unpopular fics, the one with the most hate mail, and the only multi-chaptered piece I've ever finished. This fic is so close to my heart. There aren't enough fics that explore gender and trans life, and adding this piece to the fandom has been utterly rewarding.
