Just Call Him Prince Charming
The darkness was closing in as the plane made its southeastward journey from Montana to DC. Reid switched on the light above his head and opened his book just as Morgan slid into the seat across from him.
"So priiiity boy, oh no, sorry I forgot, it's Prince Charming now isn't it?"
"Morgan, leave it alone." Reid turned a page of his book not raising his eyes to see Morgan's brilliantly white smile. "I had a job to do."
Rossi glanced back at the pair, his lips twisting into a slight smirk. "Is Reid ever going to live this down?"
"I know," Hotch agreed but looked nowhere as amused as Rossi. "If I'd had a choice, I wouldn't have done that to him but…"
"Hotch, you didn't have a choice. The woman was living in a fairy tale and the safest way to bring her down was to play into her delusion. We do it all the time. And, if you want a gentle, compassionate guy for that kind of thing, Reid is your man. No doubt about that."
"I know; I just hate giving Morgan another thing to rib him about."
"I wouldn't worry too much; we all know Reid's been through far worse than that."
Kate who sat opposite JJ in the seat across the aisle from Morgan and Reid motioned her head toward the two men and then leaned forward and whispered to JJ. "I'm not living in a delusion." She looked thoughtful for a moment and added, "At least I think I'm not," which garnered a smile and a shake of the head from JJ. "But, if he'd have come up to me with that line, I'd likely have gone with him too."
