Poll: After reading reviews, I am wonderfully curious about who the readers of my story 'Under My Skin' ship together. This will not affect the story; it's just for fun. Vote Now! |
![]() Author has written 25 stories for Star Wars, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, Suite Life series, Three Musketeers, Mr. Young, Mummy, Disney, Maze Runner Trilogy, Doctor Who, Rise of the Guardians, Twilight, Romeo & Juliet, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Suicide Squad. (I actually own a T-Shirt that says this, except for the parts in brackets…And I’ve worn it to New York) I AM CANADIAN! I do not travel by dogsled A loonie is a dollar, not a relative (although in my family, that’s debateable) I live in the second largest Country in the world. (We’re only 2.2x smaller than Russia!) Winter only lasts one season I live in a house, not an igloo I do not know your second cousin John in Saskatoon Our currency was not based on Monopoly money The parliament buildings are not made of ice The Maple Leaf is our national symbol WE ARE THE BEST HOCKEY PLAYERS IN THE WORLD! (We won gold in Russia’s Olympics! WHOO! Random thoughts, quotes and observations of mine: Boredom, move the O and you get ‘doom’ written in there… Person: Why are you doing that? Me: Because I can, it’s a free country. Person: Not if you break the law. Me: Well, then you people shouldn’t be making false promises Do you know when people talk about Fifty Shades of Gray? ‘Course not, I think most people like to keep that part of their selves hidden. Puns are a good way of punishing annoying people, or just for having a laugh at your friend’s ‘seriously?’ expression. I don’t think the word Love is said too often nowadays, I just think it’s not honest enough. People tell you not to talk to strangers…well, then how do they expect you to meet new friends? Wishful thinking is only wishful if you do nothing to make it reality Young will grow old in appearance, it’s unavoidable. Letting your spirit grow old is avoidable. Girls really shouldn’t look to Disney for relationship expectations. Or any pure romantic movies for that matter. Guys shouldn’t expect girls to act as a playboy bunny. Guys really shouldn’t expect girls to act as playboy bunny for them, especially when they say nasty things about the girls who do. Girls shouldn’t expect guys to be perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Also, when girls pick guys who they know are bad news. Well, sorry, but that’s their own fault. Same with guys; if you know a girl is a total bitch, why the hell would you date her? I don’t care how ‘hot’ a person is on the outside. When you grow old, outside beauty will probably fade, then what are you left with…oh right, ugliness in and out. Congratulations! Be careful who you call an idiot…they said the same thing about Einstein. Power over a country can be taken away from you if the masses see fit. But no one can ever take power if you’re simply empowered. We’re all idiots. Everybody has a different personal definition of one, so naturally some people think I’m an idiot, while likewise I think they’re idiots. So, therefore, we’re all idiots. But since everyone agrees that some are dumber than most, so there are universal idiots. Why would anybody want to rule the world? It sounds like a lot of work. Not to mention the mountain of paper work that you’d probably get per week… When guys/girls say: ‘You’re pretty/cute, but I would f* them.’ I think: ‘Really? Ok, personally I’d rather if someone loved me.’ People say no one actually has sex in the office…but then why are the desks so large when you put nothing on them? And the windows tainted? Really, I’m just curious. People are overly sensitive these days over petty things. Really, someone could read about the holocaust and not cry a single tear and even say it’s not sad, but god forbid if someone says they’re wrong or fat… I don’t understand why a lot of teenagers are so desperate for physical contact, but the moment they get it, most of them are incredibly uncomfortable. Why do people try to define love? It’s different for everyone. Who needs roses really, as long as you’re the one who gets to curl up with him during a movie. Why do girls need guys to buy them chocolate? They’ve already got a stash hidden someplace… I swear ties were made to be tugged by girls so that they could finally give a guy the surprise kiss. People are always like…92% of teens have moved on to *insert new trend here*. Copy and Paste if you’re one of the 8% who still *insert older trend here* And I’m there like: what if I like both? Or: I really wouldn’t care. Where’s that percent? That’s exclusion! When watching a movie, most people close their eyes for the scary/dramatic scenes…I close my eyes at the awkward/stupid ones. Thinking: This is uncomfortable…make it stop. Or: You’re an idiot, I wish I could punch you. Does anyone else find it funny how Dylan O’Brian runs in that scene with Ben in ‘The Maze Runner’ ? No offense to him, but with his arms waving around like that I couldn’t decide whether he was practising how to swim front-crawl or trying to take off flying. Which if you think about it really would’ve been helpful in that situation, but it also probably would’ve made the movie about one hour shorter. In my opinion, if you want to make a big romantic gesture you should treat it like you would an insult that you know would shut people up and maybe make them think over a few things. Worry less about the size and the grandeur and wanting everyone talking about it for a few days and more about how much it would mean to the person. In other words, make it personal. It amazes me that people know what logic is; but barely anybody uses it… T.W.I.L.I.G.H.T: Totally Worthless Insulting Literature Initiating Girls’ Hormonal Tantrums I find most teenagers nowadays think you are truly an adult when you reach eighteen, or when you’re allowed to drink, call the shots and tune out everyone else. In other words, an adult to most people from ages 12-20 is when you become a person who gets lost in routine, secretly cares mostly about themselves even when they have a family, is allowed to forget everything they were taught because now they’re in charge, switches from blaming things on parents and teachers to blaming everyone and anyone who just so happens to be around them and never, ever listens. So, basically society nowadays is made up of taller and larger children we deem as ‘grown ups’ who are really still children with a bigger playground and more harmful toys. That alone isn’t so bad; until you have to deal with the spoiled children who still haven’t learned how to share. Everyone’s version of normal is different. Hence why there is no normal, there is no different, but at the same time there is. We create it based on our experience in life. Boys think girls are weird. Girls think guys are weird…basically the opposite sex of you is always confused. Most adults could be politicians. They complain about that one family member or that one co-worker when they’re at home but the moment they are within hearing distance of said person they act civil and even friendly, just to complain about something else they did the second they leave the room. Women in the 1920’s fought hard for our rights so we wouldn’t be treated like we are less than worthy of proper love and respect. Yet, a lot of girls nowadays are trying to be as easy as possible for guys, thinking they will be nothing without one of them. I’m all for embracing femininity and sexuality, but girls, there’s a way to do that without disrespecting yourselves. And let me tell you, any guy who’s worth your time will find you so much more attractive if you do respect yourself. And to those girls who think this is bullshit…well, I honestly think you are spitting in the faces of the women who fought for our rights. Authors love to torture us. I mean, you’re on the last few pages of the last book of a series, and you think that one of your favourite characters are going to make it…when boom! They die. And the worst part is that you were expecting it to happen, because you know that author loves torturing us readers but you still allowed yourself to hope maybe…just maybe they will live. Only to be reminded why don’t hope for those things. Guys are always afraid to ask out girls who they think are too good for them. What they don’t know is that by doing that, they’ve proven that they aren’t good enough. People say there is only good, bad and the neutral. I disagree. I think, that there are also a lot of confused people still trying to figure out where they stand on the whole issue. Favourite Quotes: “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.” Albert Einstein “The other night I ate at a really nice family restaurant. Every table had an argument going.” George Carlin “I make it a policy to try and never to make a complete idiot of myself twice in the same way. After all, there’s always all kinds of new ways to make a complete idiot of myself. Why repeat the old ones?” Margot Dalton “It’s not the years…it’s the mileage.” Indiana Jones “That’s a good story. I bet you just can’t bear to let a gorgeous guy like me out of your sight.” Han Solo “This is a castle, and we have lots of Tapestries. And if you are a Scottish Lord than I am Mickey Mouse!” Guy in Castle Black in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.” Miss. Piggy “The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.” The Eleventh Doctor “We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when The Doctor was me.” The Eleventh Doctor “The world has enough warriors and heroes. Be what you’ve always been, be a Doctor.” Clara Oswald, Day of the Doctor “He’s like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and can see the turn of the universe…and he’s wonderful.” Tim Latimer, the Family of Blood “1914, Sir! Because the family has travelled and oh the things we have seen…War is coming. In foreign fields, war of the whole wide world, with all your boys falling down in the mud. Do you think they will thank the man who taught them it was glorious?” Son of mine, The Family of Blood “You’re not mating with me sunshine!” Donna Noble “Please, just save someone. Not the whole town, just someone.” Donna Noble, Fires of Pompeii “Because the thing is, it's like my friend Vicky. She lived with this bloke—student housing, five of them all packed in. And this bloke was called Sean. And she loved him. She did. She completely adored him. Spent all day long talking about him— The Doctor: “Is this going anywhere?” Martha: Yes. 'Cause he never looked at her twice. I mean he liked her. That was it. And she wasted years pining after him. Years of her life. 'Cause while he was around she never looked at anyone else. And I told her, I always said to her, time and time again, I said, "Get yourself out." So this is me, getting out.” Martha Jones: otherwise known as the best companion ever. “You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, once in your life.” Winston Churchill “Keep Calm, and carry on.” Winston Churchill “Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.” C. S. Lewis "There is no king who has not had a slave among his ancestors, and no slave who has not had a king among his." Helen Keller "Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing." Helen Keller "Speak softly and carry a big stick." Theodore Roosevelt “Just think of how many more books I would have sold if Harry had been more creative with his wand.” J.K Rowling "With great power... comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later." Nico di Angelo in the Last Olympian by Rick Riordan "They say that war is death's best friend, but I must offer you a different point of view on that one. To me, war is like the new boss who expects the impossible. He stands over your shoulder repeating one thing, incessantly: 'Get it done, get it done.' So you work harder. You get the job done. The boss, however, does not thank you. He asks for more." Death in the Book Thief "I carried them in my fingers, like suitcases. Or I'd throw them over my shoulder. It was only the children I carried in my arms." Death in the Book Thief "Please believe me when I tell you that I picked up each soul that day as if it were newly born. I even kissed a few weary, poisoned cheeks. I listened to their last, gasping cries. Their vanishing words. I watched their love visions and freed them from their fear. I took them all away, and if ever there was a time I needed distraction, this was it. In complete desolation, I looked at the world above. I watched the sky as it turned from silver to gray to the color of rain. Even the clouds were trying to get away. Sometimes I imagined how everything looked above those clouds, knowing without question that the sun was blond, and the endless atmosphere was a giant blue eye. They were French, they were Jews, and they were you." Death in the Book Thief, “The only thing worse than a boy who hates you: a boy that loves you.” The Book Thief “Imagine smiling after a slap in the face. Then think of doing it twenty-four hours a day.” The Book Thief “I wanted to tell the book thief many things, about beauty and brutality. But what could I tell her about those things that she didn't already know? I wanted to explain that I am constantly overestimating and underestimating the human race-that rarely do I ever simply estimate it. I wanted to ask her how the same thing could be so ugly and so glorious, and its words and stories so damning and brilliant.” Death in The Book Thief “Usually we walk around constantly believing ourselves: "I'm okay" we say. “I’m alright". But sometimes the truth arrives on you and you can't get it off. That's when you realize that sometimes it isn't even an answer--it's a question. Even now, I wonder how much of my life is convinced.” Death, The Book Thief “A snowball in the face is surely the perfect beginning to a lasting friendship.” Death, The Book Thief “A small but noteworthy note: I've seen so many young men over the years who think they're running at other young men. They are not. They are running at me.” Death in The Book Thief “A small fact: You are going to die...does this worry you?” Death in The Book Thief “Together, they would watch everything that was so carefully planned collapse, and they would smile at the beauty of destruction.” Death in The Book Thief “In years to come, he would be a giver of bread, not a stealer - proof again of the contradictory human being. So much good; so much evil. Just add water.” Death in The Book Thief “I guess humans like to watch a little destruction. Sand castles, houses of cards, that's where they begin. Their great skill is their capacity to escalate.” Death in The Book Thief “Even death has a heart.” Death in The Book Thief “It was a year for the ages, like 79, like 1346, to name just a few. Forget the scythe, Goddamn it, I needed a broom or a mop. And I needed a vacation. ” Death in The Book Thief “Please, trust me; I most definitely can be cheerful. I can be amiable. Agreeable. Affable. And that's only the A's. Just don't ask me to be nice. Nice has nothing to do with me.” Death in The Book Thief “No, he’s right, it doesn’t matter. Because whoever we were outside the Maze, they don’t even exist anymore, these creators took care of that. What does matter is who we are and what we do now.” Newt, The Maze Runner movie “Get off your ass and finish what you started. Because if we do nothing than that means Alby died for nothing, and I can’t have that.” Newt, The Maze Runner Movie “Are all girls like this?” Frypan, The Maze Runner Movie “Seriously?” Frypan, The Maze Runner Movie “You don’t meet a girl like that every dynasty.” The Emperor, Disney’s Mulan I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back."The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, "I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll." Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?'' The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.'' Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. "It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her." I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there." His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.'' My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall." Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me "I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me." "I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister." Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. "Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?'' "OK" he said, "I hope I do have enough." I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money. The little boy said: "Thank you God for giving me enough money!" Then he looked at me and added, "I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!'' "I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.'' "My mommy loves white roses." A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him. Now you have 2 choices: 1) Repost this message, or 2) Ignore it as if it never touched your heart You say Twilight You say Bella You say 'Edward can lure you in with his eyes' You say Robert Pattison You say Esme You say Alice You say Stephenie Meyre If you happened to discover the Mirror of Erised, what would you see in it? Don't know, maybe I'll see a world where there isn't pointless war and gossip, but I really can't say. To be honest I'm actually kind of scared of what my deepest desire might be, so maybe I'm better off not knowing. |
