![]() Author has written 23 stories for Treasure Planet, Arthur, Peter Pan, American Girl, Once Upon a Time, Thor, How to Train Your Dragon, X-Men: The Movie, Sofia the First, Jane and the Dragon, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Death Note, Elena of Avalor, Beauty and the Beast, Brave, 2012, Moana, and Tangled. Hi, my name is Kayla. I'm 25 years old, and I love to write, but then again, doesn't everybody here? It's something that I don't think I could live without. I mostly write fanfiction, but I also write some original fiction, (which I post on my Fictionpress account under the same penname). It's my dream to get published one day, so I take my writing very seriously. I am a Christian, so you'll see elements and mentions of that in my writing, and themes such as redemption, forgiveness, truthfulness, letting go of the past, and such. I also like to have a moral in my stories, or at least a change that the characters go through. When I finish a story I always like it when it makes me think, even long after I've finished reading it, so I try to do that with my own stories as well. I'm also a big history nut. If my story is set in a specific time period, you can bet I did a ton of research beforehand and that most (if not all) of the references are historically accurate. Though, there are times where I will change something just so I can add to the plot (ex. When Captain Hook plays the modern song A Thousand Years in 'Once Upon A Time', even though he's from the 1600's). But yeah, everything else in that story is historically accurate. All my fan-fiction are my own plot's, except for my story Heart Of A Captive, and Freedom. Heart Of A Captive I got inspired to write after I saw a video by LoveAndHeartbreak on YouTube. It's no longer up on YouTube, but if I can find a version posted somewhere, I'll post the link here. I fell in love with the plot, and the pairing after seeing that, so when the author gave me permission to use the storyline, I expanded on it a bit. Freedom was the product of a prompt by capnswanjones on tumblr, which started out as a one-shot and then grew into a 12,000 word story. Here are some of my favorite pairings, even though all but one of them will never happen: (if they're listed here then chances are, I'm currently writing a story about them, or already have): - Zuko/Katara - Avatar: The Last Airbender - Matt/Misa - Death Note - Mello/Sayu - Death Note - Mary Crawley/Tom Branson - Downton Abbey - Hiro/Anna - Big Hero 6 & Frozen - Older Hiro/Honey - Big Hero 6 - Emma Swan/Captain Hook - Once Upon A Time - Older Wendy/Captain Hook - Peter Pan - Jane/Gunther - Jane And The Dragon - Older Sofia/Cedric - Sofia The First (I actually have a community of stories for these two—featuring both romance and friendship!) - Loki/Jane - Thor, Avengers, Thor 2 - Hiccup/Merida - How To Train Your Dragon & Brave - Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth - Pirates Of The Caribbean movies Since I like to have stories either fully finished or mostly finished before I post them, here's a list of stories that I am currently working on and that I plan on posting in the near future (Don't worry, I'm still working on my unfinished stories!): Title: These Games We Play Fandom: Death Note Pairing(s): Matt/Misa Summary: When Misa suspects Light is cheating on her with Takada, she sets out to find the truth with some help from a friendly hacker she met on the street…one who seems to have a special interest in her. Matt/Misa Notes: These two are just adorable—and also my OTP, so obviously I had to write a story about them. Things have been going really well with this story so far, so hopefully it'll be finished soon and I'll be able to post it on a schedule. Progress: 21,400 words Title: Fearless Fandom: Big Hero 6 & Frozen Crossover Pairing(s): Hiro/Anna, Possible Tadashi/Elsa Summary: 1906, AU. Anna has been sheltered her whole life, so when she turns sixteen she asks for only one thing: to see the world. Her parents reluctantly agree, and take her on a tour of America. While in San Francisco, she meets a kindred spirit by the name of Hiro Hamada, and the two strike up an unlikely friendship. But these things are never easy—Anna is a princess betrothed to Prince Hans, and Hiro is just a teen from the wrong side of town. Throw in racial prejudice, betrayal, and a natural disaster the likes of which the city has never seen…well, the course of true love never did run smooth. Notes: I know, I know—I’m still working on the summary, but this is just a general idea. And this will explore how San Francisco and Tokyo became merged to become the San Fransokyo from the movie. This started out as a one-shot for Chaos Theory, but somehow snowballed into this massive story I am having a ton of fun writing. Progress: 21,975 words Title: How To Break A Curse Fandom: How To Train Your Dragon & Brave Crossover Pairing(s): Hiccup/Merida Summary: A curse was placed on Merida and Hiccup over a thousand years ago. It drags them through the centuries—bringing them together only to rip them apart by death. They are united again in modern day Maine, but can only remember fragments of their painful past through dreams. With time running out, they must piece together their previous lives, or stay stuck inside the curse forever. Notes: Feels like I’ve been working on this for forever, but it’s slowly but surely coming along. Basically, I noticed there’s an audience for Modern AU’s and an audience for stories that take place during the movie verse, so I thought, why not give them the best of both worlds? Plus, I got to write about a curse, so that was fun! Progress: 12,400 words Title: Growing Pains Fandom: Sofia The First Pairing(s): Cedric/Sofia Summary: A magical accident involving one of Cedric’s potions causes Sofia to age twenty years, and the matter is further complicated when it is learned the antidote to the potion is not known. Because it involved dark magic, the only way to break the potion is to either find a counter-potion or kill the caster of the curse—in this case, Cedric. He is given six months to find a counter-potion to reverse it, or else be executed. With Sofia now a grown woman, not only is Cedric’s life on the line, but his heart as well. Notes: If you liked ‘How To Fall In Love (In Ten Easy Steps)’, you might like this one. It’s definitely not a romantic comedy. In fact, the subject matter and themes are a bit darker, but it is not without hope. And although it’s not strictly a comedy, there is some humor sprinkled in, as with all my stories. Progress: 10,200 words Well, that's about it. I can't really think of anything else to say; I do most of my talking in stories, so if you have any questions about me or my writing, just feel free to PM me and ask. I always like making new friends. :) |
