Awww! This was so sweet! And very believable in canon. Poor Mateo has been through a lot lately and Elena...so sweetly oblivious. And I really love the idea of sweet, awkward Mateo feeling slightly bold after Elena's pep talk and giving such a shy, innocent kiss and Elena not knowing how to respond at first because a bunch of surprise new feelings were already competing inside her.
