First of all, serious props for doing a fic like this. I love unconventional pairings and AU's where the villain gets the girl. Not because I think that's how it should be but because I find them fascinating reads.

Your writing is solid and though a little basic in one or two sections it is overall, a very enjoyable read.

First, I was intrigued by the pairing. As for Frollo and Esmeralda in The Hunchback, I must say I already thought about them, wondering how the story would end if Belle had accepted Gaston's hand, but with her own conditions (she is a woman of her kind after all). Thanks to you, I finally see the result and I must say you did it very well, I'm not disappointed. The characters stay true to themselves but managed to accept each other without giving up the romance or the passion we saw in the animated movie or in the movies too (even I prefer the French version).
True, I wondered if we could have seen the Beast but I didn't miss him.
Then, Hervé, I really don't like him and in the end, he seems to forget Belle when he meets Imogène, as if Belle couldn't compete with Imogène's intelligence and knowledge and seems to remember her at the very end of his chapter. It was the only detail which annoyed me.
When Belle gave birth to her son, I wanted Gaston to be with her since he isn't the type who does what he's told but never mind.
Really you rock, your story was well written and I loved reading it. Now I'm just disappointed I've reached the end but congratulations, you deserve them

So, I started reading this story a few years ago, but for some reason, I don't think I got past the first couple of chapters. I am happy to say that I found it again and finally had the time to sit down and read the whole thing in just a couple days! You have a wonderful way of telling stories. I never would have thought Belle and Gaston could make a good couple, but I was rooting for them by chapter 10!

I really love the contrast you bring up here. How Gaston is usually willing to try anything new for Belle. Yes he’d expect her to engage in his hobbies, overly much. But you’re painting a clear picture of why Belle should favor the handsomest guy in town.

I love how Gaston just whistles his way home.
