Author has written 23 stories for Mentalist. Hey, Thanks for visiting my page. I'm 26 and enjoy reading/writing fanficiton when I can find the time. I'm the type of person who gets really into one show at a time. When I first found this site, I was really into Stargate SG-1 and still read some of those on occasion but now, I'm really into The Mentalist. It's really the only tv show I regularly watch so I'm hoping it lasts forever (though I know that's not possible). I'm a real angst junkie but if you've read my stuff, I typically like things to work out in the end. I'm kind of a read-aholic. These authors are some of my favorites and have inspired me to write. Ted Dekker - My favorite author. His ability to draw you into a story and make you feel like you're a part of the world he has created is a gift. My all time favorite book is actually a series of books called "The Circle" (Black, Red, White). From the very beginning the reader is captivated by the story of a man, Thomas who is being chased down the streets of Denver by a group of unknown thugs. When Thomas is injured by said thugs, he awakens to find himself in another world. From then on, when he falls asleep in one world, he wakes up back in the other. Both the real world and Tomas' dreamed reality have stories to tell and evil to conquer. Pick up those books and I promise you'll be sucked in. The fun part is the rest of Dekker's books often have a connection to those first three. Sometimes, it's a very small connection but other times it's a very big, direct connection. Gregg Hurwitz - He's a fairly new thriller author with a serious talent for writing. His stories are full of exciting twists and turns that leave you wanting more. My favorite book by him so far is "The Survivor". It's a gripping tale of a ex soldier suffering from PTSD among other things. He accidentally gets himself tangled in with some seriously bad dudes. This is a story about family, about being a father and what one person will do to protect that family. This book effected me so much that I had to take a month-long break from reading while I processed/recovered from this one. "We're watching" and "You're Next" are also fantastic novels by Hurwitz. Harlan Coben - Known for his Myron Bolitar series, Harlan Coben is another talented mystery/thriller writer. While I enjoy the Myron series (Win is pretty much the best fictional character ever), I also really enjoy his stand alone novels like "Caught" and "Tell No One". Coben likes to break the main character's heart and then dangle it in front of them just out of reach until the very end of the book. His most impressive novel IMO, is "Play Dead" which is a gripping and heartbreaking tale but the real killer (pun intended) is that Coben wrote this amazing novel when he was 24! I might be a little jealous. Favorite Lyrics: "And Ive lost who I am "This is your time "Everlasting "Life's like an hourglass glued to the table..." Favorite Quotes: (some serious but most are not..) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."? Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. "Live to discover, as long as discovery leads to a love that comes from the Creator... writing is the mirror to life." - Ted Dekker (Showdown) "A talent is formed in stillness, a character in the world's torrent."- Goethe "You may break, you may shatter the vase, if you will, but the scent of the roses will hang round it still" - Thomas Moore "If music be the flood of life, play on." -Twelfth Night Act 1, Scene 1 "He irks me. He's irksome." -Jane "You - go to Hell. Take a toothbrush." - Lisbon "“Like I always say, there's no "I" in team. There's a "me" though, if you jumble it up.” -House "Lose it... It means go crazy, nuts, insane, bonzo, no longer in possession of ones faculties, three fries short of a Happy Meal, wacko!" - O'Neill Jane -I take this nap for freedom, Lisbon. For every little guy who has a dream. House: You did it, didn't you? You kissed her. "So I take it you don't want to hear my plan. No i don't wanna hear your plan, sheep dip your plan!" - Jane (imitating Lisbon) "I don't need my gun, ill just hit you with my chair" -Lisbon "It's there and then It's gone." - Jane (probably one of the most beautiful yet heartbreaking scenes ever) Thanks for reading :D |
