She's just finishing up the last of her work out when there's a small knock at her door. She knows it's not her detail, not Kurt. That gentle tapping is most definitely female. It's just eight-thirty on Thanksgiving morning, she can't imagine who it could be... The ladies of Blindspot enjoying some downtime together...

"Weller, please," she watches him, watches the war building behind his eyes. Can almost feel the anger and the relief battling for release. When he doesn't answer, just motions her out, she steps down and follows his lead. They take the elevator up and she can see in the glaring lights just how tired he is, how much her evening stroll has affected him. A tag for 106&108.. of sorts

"What word would you use?" The words go from on her mind to off her tongue before she can stop them. She can feel his eyes on her face all at once, feel the air go still and hot and thick. And then the bottom drops out from under her as if the elevator doesn't exist.

"That's just it, if it came down to the girl you lost and the woman you found, who would you choose?"

"Today is important to you. And you are all that is important to me. Should my presence at dinner be all you request of me, then I am most humbly at your disposal."... Joan and Sherlock and Thanksgiving...

They keep reaching new heights in this companionship turned partnership near friendship that they share. They've gone from the careless, almost reckless climbing of those with everything to prove to the tentative, nearly measured gestures of those with too much to lose... a tag (or not) for 2x3

She always knew he possessed the experience to set her entire world on fire, she just never knew he'd lace it in enough affection and care to have her emotions set aflame as well...

I realize I do not want to share her company this evening. Whatever the reason, I do not question my reliance on her of late. This summer has shown me that isolation from the world is all well and good as long as she is beside me.

His eyes, his movement, his speech, all of his gestures are always curt and precise. There's no finesse in his bones, no grace in his conscious. So she's startled to find his lips are gentle and his hands are hesitant. The novice hands of a seasoned veteran, the hands of a man who knows how to take what he wants and finally wants what he's taken...

"Well your intentions, a lot like your motives, are never what they really seem. And I'm done with your white lies and half truths. I deserve much more than your measly thirty percent. And I know we long ago passed the point where there's a need for me to remind you of that."

He finds himself pulled, as he so often does, toward the warmth of her. Still marvels, all these months later, after the knowledge that she's truly and freely his. After everything they've been through, everything he's put her through, he sometimes can't believe that she's still chosen him.

All he knows is that she's there for him when he doesn't know how to be there for himself, and he's pretty sure gestures of equal measures speak loader than any words could for her. This is why he's here. -An episode tag for Little Red Corvette-
