This is so much more than a "tag" - it's a beautiful - and beautifully written - resolution that would have been far superior to canon. Your Lisbon and Jane are rational and adult as befits 40-somethings who have been to hell and back together. Your Lisbon takes action and takes responsibility for the relationship, which is actually consistent with the tough, kick-ass CBI agent of the first five seasons. Yes, conversation, communication results in searing, hard-won clarity that leads to better choices by both (unlike canon's ridiculously passive Lisbon, Jane's ridiculously convoluted, indirect scheming, and the over-the-top plane scene). Thank you for writing this story. |
